    No,
What I was saying was that the seat back cushions for the Olds/Buicks were different then the Pontiac/Chevy. The 70 Olds and 70 Buick front seat back cushions are not the same.

A very common complaint when replacing entire seat springs with reproduciotn ones (made for Chevelles and every one sells them to us because we all know all A bodies re the same).

The hot tip is to repair broken springs with proper gauge spring repair material

I don't mind it. I know it'll settle over time.

    It's like a brand new car. :D:D

Yes the 70 Olds seat pattern does not have the Upside down U pattern like a Buick.

When I had the upholstery business going I always hated reproduction seat cushions.

I would go out of my way to repair the original cushions instead of using repros. After a while I got very good at repairing original foams.

Once I did a pair of 65 Corvette seats with new cushions, and the only way we got them on was to hog ring the centers in, get someone to sit on the seats, pull the covers on the rest of the way, hog ring them in, and then have the guy get off the seat. (and this was after we cut 2" off the bottom of the cushions.)

The covers looked great, but when the owner came in to get them I told him if he ever Farted and the seats let loose, he was probably going to nail the windshield.

Another thing to remember is this, the foam expands at something like 30-1, so if you inject a golf ball size amount of extra material into the mold you end up with an extra volume the size of at least a large grapefruit. This means the density of the foam gets that much greater. I remember one upholstery guy that ran new cushions thru an old ringer washer machine to "break the cushion down some" before he would use them.

Duane sounds like a great idea for an ejection seat on the passenger side for bad dates.

    Duane knows.
That video is a loose understanding.
Our Buick buckets were built to a higher standard.
We finished one. Took a few tries, a bunch of curses.
One set of tears, lol. I hog ringed a finger.
Overall. It was tough. Have one more to go.
Need more hog rings. Need more listing wire maybe.

I got sent the 71-2 foam.
I had to make my own cuts for listing wire.
    I heated a butter knife w a propane torch.
Worked great. Watch your finger tips on metal handles, lol.

As for the new foam. The pieces were more than needed.
We trim the top and bottom of the back.
Removed a bunch of cotton too.
Overall we are very happy with quality now.
The new foam is like gigantor against the oem.
We also trimmed bottom part a wee bit.
The Buick buckets have extra supports built into buckets.
Found 1/2 a build sheet in pass seat.
Something Karl Buick Coney Island Ave.
Found its way to poconos and traded into bob chisuli Suzuki. We bought off wholesaler. 1988.

    It goes:

-Then there’s ANOTHER section of burlap, in the center of the lower seat, with the small wires in it….

I reused the lower burlap center section, then covered the entire lower seat with 2 layers of new burlap, then reused the felt pad, then used new seat foam.
Putting the seat cover on, for a novice, takes 2 people!!!! Plan 45 or so minutes to shape and stretch the cover over the foam. I used a hair dryer to help with wrinkles.
