Mine will be here this week.

If mine are like yours, it looks like my interior guy will have to get creative.

I carved the u-shaped channel in the upper foam.

Can you post a pic Brian, or is it covered? Did you use a hot knife, or just a blade?

Brett I have a local guy that’s real good if you want to use him. He did a great job on mine.

    Brett,
Your top has the slots cut in for a 66-70 Chevelle/GTO. Hopefully the slots are molded low enough so they will not need filled for the 70 GS 'U" shaped inserts.

I'm legit sitting 6 to 8 inches higher than before.

The seat too puffy and convex. They should be concave like the passenger seat. This can also lead to premature wear or damage to the material. Looks like you have all of the listing pulled down correctly though.

It'll flatten out after some use.

The guy who did it has been in the business for almost 50 years and merely used the parts Legendary would have used had they done the seat.

It's essentially a compilation of Legendary parts - the foams they sell , their springs and covers. I have faith. :D

No way, you are basing that on what? 50 years of use? Unless you can go back in your way back machine how do you know how puffy and flat they were? He used the best materials available now. No extra puff can be added?

Another problem may be the perceived puffiness with a front shot of the seat. This is a shot you don’t really see often as the seats are in the car. For years proper seat covers were not available and were too flat. I remember having to settle for seat covers that were too flat and did not have the deep cuts between the pleats. It’s a perfect example of bad reproductions jading everyone’s mind and being correct!

This is a file photo in his book of a 70 GSX. Look at the drivers seat. It looks a bit “Puffy” just like Brett’s.

The outer sides should be slightly higher than the center. I have been very fortunate to have some extremely low-mile cars that have perfect seats. I always try to use the passenger seat for a better comparison because it is used less. I have also kept an assortment of perfect original foams, and they are shaped slightly different, and thinner in some areas, compared to these foams. Some of us actually shave the new foams to get the shape and appearance correct. Yes,he IS using the best materials possible, but they still need some tweaking because they are not exactly the same. I wasn’t bashing, just trying to help.

The black and white picture I posted drivers seat looks pretty convex.

I missed this earlier Daune - Are you saying the 70 GS seats are similar to the 70 442 seats in regards to the seat back?
