I currently have these plus daughter's Hyundai and the family van which was an astro but it died and we got a Toyota.

Gotta chime in to fuel the fire
I was raised gm pontiacs, gmc trucks, buicks even a mopar or two my dad hated fords
Between company trucks, kids cars ,mine, Ive had about every major brand import or domestic more than once.
Right now between the female and me we have in the way of pre 70 cars a couple chevys a couple buicks and a pontiac. Nothing like the GM cars of that era

So now thats explained My daily drivers are a ford f 150 and a Mustang I couldn't be happier with the quality, before the 150 I had a ford expedition for 12 years that was
the best rig I ever owned
My current work truck is a ford E350 cargo van that I got new in 2002 and the only thing since new is a head gasket and its had a rough life so I swear by that beater.
I will be getting a company new transit 350 van soon and not sure Ill be as happy with the twin turbo 6 as I have been with my old van but time and abuse will tell.
So I respect brand loyalty with GM as thats where my old car heart lies
For daily use Ford has my vote any more

I always see Ford's broke down. New and old they always seem to be on the side of the road. Just seen an old man driving a 2018 explorer that was just about catch fire. He kept on going down the st in a plume of white smoke.. i bet he knew but just kept driving. I think he was just used to them breaking down.

Hey a little raggin on each other's opinions is fine, don't get your panties in a wad. But I gotta say Ronnie I have a 96 Ford van with a 351 roller rocker, pushrod engine with 224K miles on it and it still has 45# of oil pressure. I've towed cars all over this country and it has never left me stranded. Last year I replaced the starter, water pump, alternator and all the pulleys; not becaused anything failed but just because. Still has the original exhaust system, AC compressor. Never had a valve cover off, the trans out of it or rebuilt the ball joints in that stupid twin I-beam front end. It still gets 2500 miles to a quart of oil, doesn't puff smoke, no leaks anywhere, power windows, power seats and door locks, heater blower still work. I have replaced the radiator, bearings and seals in the rear end from towing car haulers and horses in a 1/2 ton. Had a 4x4, 1997, 3/4 Ton Chevy Silverado loaded out with a 454 that was a dog till I had the torque manangement programming removed from the ecm, had to rebuild that rear end too at 150K miles. But I was constantly fixing little issues inside the front doors with power windows and door handles. It also had a weird issue that if you did not shut the computerized AC/heat system off before shutting the truck off you had no AC or heat the next time you started the truck from a couple hours up to two days after. Never did figure that out. Other than that is was fine.

Now my V8 Buicks have been fantastic vehicles (two 70's, two 71's, one 72 and one 80 Park Avenue with the 350 Buick being the most reliable of all. But I will never own another Turbo Regal (owned three of those high maint wenches).

I'm always up for a little brand bashing....I know they're all good and they can all be junk too. My dad was die hard Ford truck and GM car guy. I caught the GM bug early on. Every new vehicle I've ever bought (22 and counting) have been GM except for one Ford. Bought a new 2005 F-350 Powerstroke Lariat XLT crew cab Harley Davidson long bed. I could only put up with the ride and the handling or should I say "wandering" tire wearing-miserable thing for 6 months and 5K miles! Went back to GM and bought another new Dually, and haven't looked at a FORD since. ;););)

    Good one Philip haha.
I'm loyal to GM but I'm no fool I know there are bad years, models and engines. But I'm loyal because it's constantly been the GM in my fleet that last longer and always there for me when I turn the key

My last Ford truck 86 F350 was at almost 900,000 miles when the body started to fail.
My current 2002 Ford F250 is at 390,000 miles and has had 1 lower ball joint and new injectors last year. Say what you want I know what I'll buy when I need another truck.
It won't be an aluminum truck but it will be a Ford or International.

The first car I remember my Dad having was 37 Chevy 2 door sedan, in 47 he bought a 46 Buick sedanette, I loved that car and have been hooked on Buicks since then. I've had good luck with Buicks even the so called bad years, no problems. Have had excellent results with Chevy trucks too. Back in the day I have always said if it wasn't a GM it would be a Mopar. Now I would go with Ford if I were to stray from GM, probably not going to happen.

I've owned all sorts of brands. I suppose almost any car newer car will last long as long as you maintain it. Technology has come a long way. Still prefer my Buick over Chebby.

The Durango in the back has 199k miles and still kicking. We've had it since new, recently picked up an 88 F-150 from a friend for free. Just needed a fuel pump from sitting. Has the 302 that runs like a top. 1970 Mustang with a 351 W with no leaks and great oil pressure. Screen Shot 2019-04-05 at 7.51.00 AM.png IMG_20190414_122454_385.jpg
