Again, thanks to a brief mention in Duane's Motion restoration thread, I decided to find my old files on these stripes... I was able to open some old files in one of my older laptops and found TWO window stickers from 1969 Stage 1's that had the factory D80 stripes. On one window sticker, it was listed as "Rallye Stripes". On the other, it was listed as "GS Paint Stripes". On this car, it was a "no charge" option. These "paint stripes" were HAND PAINTED. I have attached pictures of the stripes from this ORIGINAL PAINT car. FYI: this was a LATE car- invoiced June, 1969. Enjoy!
wow that's cool. looks like someone did those stripes in there driveway. i've never seen those stripes before but i've heard of the D80 option. thanks for the post. johnny
George, Just to add to this thread I am posting pics of the original factory stripes on my car. It is an early car with the stripes going over the rear wheels. The production date on the car was September 30, 1968 from Oshawa Ontario Canada. This makes it almost the tail end of the production for the stripes over the rear wheels. The pics are not in any particular order. Duane
