After getting the original motor out we opened it up to find a little guy made this engine his home.

Elbow grease time. Thought about Duane doing all the little things to the Motion car as I was thankful I don’t have to do as much as he does. Sure looks better when you clean up the parts.

What, no pitts in those pot metal pieces? How do you expect to authenticate 49 years without pitts?:D

Looks good Ryan, we're all jealous.:p

When Bill redid the car in the late 70's he went to the local Buick place and bought all NEW pop metal and Bumpers. No rechrome stuff on this car. This is why they still look so good. Also after he did that the car was not used as often as most of our old Buicks were. Most everything on this car will clean up with a little effort and should look really nice for local shows. I am seriously concerned about anything happening to the paint as it could NEVER be fixed if something was to hit it or damage it. The paint on this car is crazy cool and must be seen in person to really get the full effect of the workmanship that was done.

Hippie days. Ribbons, cobbwebbing, graphics, etc were all in style back then at the Autorama type shows.

    Ryan,
Aw come on, it's no fun unless you handle/clean/paint/plate every little piece. You should know that.:p
Looking good, and seeing Dave at work as well.

The first 70 Stage 1 4-speed car I bought had lace on the sides of the body and both sides of the hood. Probably on the trunk too. Maybe I can find those pics.

    Mike,
I have no plans of making it to BG this year with the car but that's not to say if I can make it I will. I would really like to be able to take it to the Charlotte Auto Fair in April but I think that's crazy optimistic and very unrealistic.

    Duane,
If you feel energized and just want something else to work on now that you are in the final steps of the Motion car feel free to come on down lol. With the speed and progress you and Nick are making on the Motion car you guys could have this car done is just a few hours like all the TV shows do haha

Update on the engine. We found that the 1970 heads had some nice looking port work done to them. I dropped them off at a local machine shop today to be freshened up. Plan is to possibly use them on the 71 motor I was able to get from TX. Cutting them down to get the compression of the 71 up. The bottom end of the 70 is not looking very good.
