I was asked by a young kid once,
“I want a mustang when I get older but I want a white one so I can paint it what ever color I want to”
I laughed a bit on that
A neighbor told me he just bought a car exactly like my brown 70 GS
He said his was even the same color Only his was red

Not heard but saw, good old Linc, owner of Linc's auto body, many years ago, spraying away with no mask, no nothing. He would take a deep breathe, start spraying and look away so's not to get overspray in his eyes, stop for a second, step back, take another deep breathe, and so on.

I thought there a thread on here years ago about how to accomplish a great do-it-yourself paint job using spray paint, except it required like 20 coats, a ton of sandpaper, and beaucoup hours of sanding.

There is a guy on utube that uses a roller to paint cars and he and some of his follower swear by it.

I even seen a man in my old neighborhood painting his van white with a roller right on the side walk. When i seen that i whispered to my self " that guy is crazy"

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

There was a guy, back in high school who painted and old Ford 4dr. with a brush and small roller. He thinned the paint, put on several heavy coats, then sanded. It actually looked decent...........................from about 10' away.

Ive seen the out come of a roller jobs. It can look fantastic. lots of are even better than a traditional spray job.. FWIW if you pay millions for a yacht the don't make spray booths that big. Roll&Tip buddy. only way.

Back in the day, Jennifer painted her Mustang by herself. She did all the body work and painted it with Krylon spray paint. After she painted it, she cut and buffed it. It came out really good! I helped her put it back together, we drove it to Connecticut and entered it in the Mustangs Unlimited show.

Couple of us helped a HS buddy put a used Corvette engine in his '50 Ford. He wanted a "look" to go with swap, so we made-up some tinted primer, shot it in the driveway with his mom's vacuum cleaner spray attachment, and took turns spraying on flames. Things you'll do as kids with no money...:)

I remember back about 1977-78 or so I was a teenage kid and one of our neighbors had this mid 60's pull type camper. Well one day he decided he was going to paint it, so he went down to the local hardware store and bought a gallon of green and a gallon of yellow paint. He spent the entire day prepping and painting it. Bottom 1/2 was green top was yellow. He painted it parked in the street.

That night it rained, and I mean it rained hard. It was pitch forks and hammer handles coming down.

Well the following morning was really interesting to see the street had changed color lol.
