The radiator came from Jimmy and was set aside for the car. It may have been the original rad but not sure of that. Jim had a few "SJ" rads there so I picked the one out with the best tanks. I had the original tag, clip, and trans plugs. Yeah I saw the pieces were soldered on. I would bet Nick has that done so they stay there. They are just too hard to find today. They all should have been done that way. Duane PS. Now we know the "limit" to Jason's nose. It won't reach all the way to PA or South Jersey.
These 2 adds were also in an April 1970 magazine that Jimmy saved with his Motion info. The Thrush mufflers were priced at $6.98 each. Duane
Here are today's pics. Nick has the radiator and fan all installed now. When I gave him the radiator cover it was in nice shape but was all grungy and had been spray bombed with black paint. It sure looks good now. Enjoy. Duane
How did he make the fan shroud and radiator cover look so nice..... Everything looks amazing.... If it weren't freezing out in my garage I would be detailing my GS.....this thread is motivational.
Nick sent me the video as well, but I don't know how to load it here. If someone wants to give me their e-mail address and post the video here, I can send the file from my phone. Or can it be linked to facebook? Also, as far as the fan shroud etc., Nick had his engine builder put them in his jet spray washer. It is what he uses to clean up engine blocks etc. Between the jet spray and the mild caustic solution in the water, it takes off all the paint and really cleans up the plastic pieces. Duane
Duane, send me the video and I'll upload it on Youtube. That way, everyone can see it. Can you e mail it?
Got the video from Nick, Idle is a bit choppy with the 930 carburetor. Nick is going to use the 850 from the Dyno.
Nick sent some pics from today. He put a driveshaft in so he can get it on and off the trailer easier. The pics are of the car outside his house garage, and it's ready to go to the shop for hood assembly, finish panel fit, and paint striping. The last 2 pics show the installed Phase III ignition. I had to fabricate a few pieces, but it turned out nice. All it needs is the decal put on and it's done. Duane
Nick has it up there somewhere. It just hasn't made it on the car yet. I don't think he has put any of the frame/spring/sway bar decals on yet. I don't think the decal on the rear pumpkin is there either. I guess he is going to do all that after the car is done. Duane
Good deal, that would be hard to find. I used to see those units all the time at swap meets, but I haven't seen one in a very long time.
Yeah, The decals for the ignition and rear axle were very hard to find. I think there is only one person that makes each one. Like you said some of this stuff would be a bitch to locate today. Luckily Jimmy had most of the pieces, but even so I have had to fabricate certain things from pictures, as I had no availability to see some of this stuff in person. Duane
