My 64 lesabre wagon, just got her a month or two ago. Was all stock, Far from perfect- but it's mostly all there. I'm not a purist, hope it doesn't offend too many. Did Front disc brake conversion, lowered it a little (static), 14 reverse cragars. Drive it everyday. Will be doing some mild custom things, paint, and reupholstering front bench seat next. Please excuse the interior pics, these were all pre-cleaning.
Lucky?? That's an understatement! I'm looking at Buick Heaven and you have the keys. Pretty awesome Ted!
The engine was salvaged from an '87 Grand National (the car totally rusted out around it). I got the engine, transmission, intercooler, wire harness, and computer from the donor car. I sold the harness and replaced with a Ron Francis kit, and swapped the whole thing in the '64 last summer. Pretty clean swap - it needed some crossmember mods for oil pan clearance and some frame mods to move the transmission crossmember rearward. I also needed to fab some mounts for the universal radiator. However, the stock column shift linkage hooked right up, the turbo exhaust plumbing fit the new chassis like it was made for it, and the intercooler is in the stock location.
About that time of year again, patiently waiting for spring. Have some small projects I'm working on for this year (new rims/tires, headlights, carpet etc..) and will update when things get rolling.
