1972 skylark. from heater temp lever on dash. (back side) to blend door, or mix door on firewall / pass side , under dash pad. THX
it IS and A/C car, there is NO old one, I'll measure in the am. thanks I should know by now, just to contact you, LOL
good morning. cable is approx. 20 in long, runs from heater control assy to door on plenum small pin sticking down in 1st pic to control arm in 2nd pic
There are three cables- red blue and green. If you don't know what color you need, what color are the two others? Or you can look on the bottom of the heater controls from under the dash and its stamped what color goes where. So look where the cable should be on the controls and you should see the RED BLUE or GREEN stamps
1st...…… I'm in AZ ( warm temps, sun, little rain) 2nd... it was 16 here last night, 3rd... hi today so far is 34 4th..... no way in heck ,am I going out in that weather! yea, I know you easterners do that all the time, (NOT ME) if I need a #5...… it snowed here yesterday, yea, that white stuff you get when its cold out! so...……. when it warms some, I'll go out in the cold garage and look at the cables, I had no idea they were marked / color codes, Thanks for the info.
Looks like he needs a red one for an AC car. I think there are two red lengths. I'll look in my manual and see what the correct length is
I have a small pile of these. Some are 70-72 Skylark/GS,and some are 70-72 Cutlass/442. I don’t know if they both use the same ones, but they have the different colors as mentioned. I think Inline Tube also sells new ones.
well. … (light bulb goes on!) noticed something today, heater says "CLIMATE CONTROL" has only ONE lever, pics added, gee, lucky me!
So this is what the bottom of the AC controls look like. You can see the stamps- Blue, Red (AC location) , Red "A" heater (location for non AC), Green. So there are two different red cable lengths- one for heater only, one for A/C. This is the control cable diagram in the service manual. Basically shows you where the red cable goes for AC cars- This is the control cable chart from the 70 assembly manual- Hope this helps...
I think ALL of them said that. I DON'T believe with A-Body cars you could get anything diff. like "Comfortron" which I believe was only available in full size cars & Rivs. Comfortron is automatic A/C where you set the temp. & the system automatically controls interior temp.
