    Hello All,

I'm looking to purchase a 71 or 72 convertible GS 350, but want a floor shifter. I've scoured all resources available to me, but can't find production numbers to validate how many were floor shifter models were produced vs the column shift.

Any resources or specs that outline production numbers for these 2 versions would be a tremendous help.

    Thanks in advance!

Can't help with numbers produced, but they had to be specially ordered with buckets in 71 and 72. As such, I suspect the actual numbers are small. I have seen conversions.

Thanks for replay UticaGeoff. If I'm understanding you correctly, it's more likely to find a 72 GS 350 convertible with bench seats and the column shifter than it is the special ordered bucket seats with the floor shifter....correct?

Yes. As Geoff said, buckers and console were only available as a special order. Only a handful were made. The exact number is unknown. You would be better off buying a bench seat car and converting it rather than looking for a unicorn

Thanks @buick64203 & @UticaGeoff for this insight. It was very informative and helps temper my search and future plans for my build. Luckily I won't have to pass up another great car while I'm waiting for a unicorn to appear. LOL -Cheers!

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

FWIW.....If you find a bench seat convertible and want to change it to a bucket seat car I have a complete console and shifter setup I can sell you.
