How well has the rich Corinthian leather held up?

This is a Chevy part of the state which is why I work at a Chevy dealer.....facts is facts, and if its a truck from the mid 60s to 1979, it's about impossible to argue which brand is "tougher" when put on a farm, ranch, or in the mountains. The Dana axles and leaf springs instead of coils the blue oval used are reason enough alone for why one brand is still prominently getting actually used and the other isn't. I had a 62 Chevy shortbox and 64 long box big back window. Super cool trucks and I loved them, they rode great. They just weren't built as robustly for getting 1000 lbs of rocks or logs thrown in the back and then beat on a skidsteer trail.....when Ford did the body change in 1980 things were indeed different and you see many more square body Chevys than those year Fords, which is why i said "classics". 1980 on up is just a pickup here. You'll get no brand loyal insanity from me, my friend. If something is actually better, I say it's better, regardless of the emblem on it. That's why I own so many different kinds of cars.....you couldn't give me a 94-98 mustang, but I'd gladly pay you a fair price for the same vintage camaro or firebird. They were just better than the mustang.

That's my problem, too, Jerry.....there's just so many abandoned "children" to adopt!

20 years ago around my area you could see old cars ,trucks all over the place. The price of scrap metal went up,and now you hardly ever see any.It was two big junk yards near me nothing but old stuff. The owner's died ,and there wife, and kids crushed all of them.

Most the time it just takes a little cash around here....We might make an attempt on the R-E-O when other projects get done to make a car hauler/snowmobile rig out of. I said when other projects get done so that means probably 10 years from now :D

I haven't been taking any pics of my excursions lately, but this one was too obscure and had to get photo evidence. This is about 10 miles down a gravel road in the mountains and about 200 yards off the beaten path.

Supposedly there's a Pantera laying out in the area somewhere, which is one of my dream cars. Some day I'll find it. Couple of my buddies saw it on a less than clear headed drive, and neither can remember where exactly.

    Nice pic's!
The driver of the 66 GTO should quickly put a new bulb in his rear brake lights though!!
Looks pretty modernized and seeing the plate reading LSGTO. Love and hate it at the same time especially being vert:(

I worked for a Hyundai dealer from '89-'91, fun place to work, their cars have come a looooong way since then, you could outrun an '89 from a standing start:rolleyes:

I look at old abandoned cars like I do dogs in shelters or homeless dogs, I'd want to save all of them:D
