I am new to the board and hoping someone can help me get my first Buick. I've decided that I want a 65-66 or 70-72 Skylark, preferably with a manual transmission, but I will swap one in if I have to. I know I will have to do some work to the car given my budget but am not interested in doing rust repair unless it is small holes in the trunk or floor that are easy to fix. I'd rather get a roller than a running car with rotted quarters and frame. I am in the center of Bucks County in Pennsylvania and willing to drive several hours or more for the right car. I have $6500 ready to go but can go up or down a little if needed. I can tell you that the car will be driven often and splitting daily driving duties with my 1972 K20 once I make it dependable enough for that.

Welcome! You should be able to find a nice car for that or close to it. Check the Leads section, there's been some real nice cars go for 6k or so the last year.

I have been scouring Craigslist everyday. Most sellers are either dishonest, non responsive, or refuse to sell to someone that doesn't live in their town. Kind of disappointing since I always tell them I already have the money out of the bank and ready, which I know is problem with some buyers who promise to get the money and never do.

Welcome! I'm in your area, I'll keep an eye out for something around here. I'm into the 65-66's. Nick in Ivyland might know of a 70-72. He's doing the resto on the 1969 Motion GS car.
I see you inquired about the red '66 in Philly. It looks like a decent project even tho it has some rust. The floors/ trunks aren't that hard to repair.

At this point I don't trust the seller and for a little more money I think I can get a better car that doesn't require me to drive into Kensington.

I have a 65 roller that I'm getting ready to list.
Will be a bit of a project, but it's a California car.
I'm at work now, but I can add details later.

Try this website https://cargraph.com/usa/buick/skylark/1970 You can save your search and they e-mail you when they find a car. I am looking for a good set of bumper cores for my 70 so I have my search saved waiting for something close to me or I stumble upon some for sale on this board.
    Good Luck Jim

That's my favorite way to buy a car, in fact, I have never had one hauled home - I usually take a Greyhound bus so I can take my tool bag with me, but if to far fly.

My brother and I are going to drive his car out and drive both back. If I have any issues I figure it will be easier to get parts with a second vehicle to drive to the store, although I am hoping that won't be necessary.

Anybody have any recommended spare parts I should bring? I am thinking fuel pump, fuel hose, fuel filter, wire and fuses.
