Been off the board too long... had no idea Mike had suffered this business loss. Donation happily made tonight.
Updated and totals adjusted.. one donation was for the board, and got lumped in with this, during the flood of donations on Feb 7-10.. Thanks to all Running this thru April 15.. so you maybe able to free up some dough once you know what uncle sam wants this year.. (taxes) or maybe your getting some back, and want to share the wealth.. LOL.. JW
Another adjustment to the total, as we had another contributor contact me and direct half the amount he gave during this time period to the board.. JW
Yep... wondering about Mike? How is he and the family doing? The guys over at TB.com was asking as well.
Well a little update here. Tomorrow all of the insurance investigators and the furnace company are meeting finally to settle the cause of the fire. We all know it was the Heater so as I say lets get this over with. The "business interruption" insurance is a joke. It barely has paid enough to keep up on the bills. I did reopen the little shop behind my house that all this started from. So one car at a time Ive been able to get some monies to keep me above the water. I am ready to get back to work for sure. So then to ad more stress my Dad was diagnosed with cancer in a leg bone and his kidney. They had to install a rod from hip to his knee, and cut out a section of his leg bone. Then after a week they took one of his kidneys. So he has been in rehab ever since. He starts radiation treatments tomorrow as well. He is ready to go home since he has been in a hospital bed for nearly 6 weeks. SO there it is, tomorrow will be a big day if they release my building to me. We as a crew are going to scrap the place ourselves so we can find any and all tools etc. I started getting my repro parts back on line. I did loose every 68-9 console lid I have forever unless I get someone else to get them made again. Cherish what you have love those who you need too. Life is short and family is everything. Thanks for all the prayers and support.
Donation made. I've never met anyone from V8.com or have ever spoken to anyone directly, but regardless of the political or otherwise opinions that I've seen fly back and forth here in the different forums that have made me just shake my head, this wonderful V8 group does renew my hope in mankind. GOD bless you all.
Jim, I wanted to say that you did a great thing to set up a fund as you did. Did Mike ever get the rest of the donation money that members had donated to the "Mike Garrison Relief Fund"? I saw where there was a goal and it wasn't met but, a lot of good guys did a great thing to help a fellow Buick guy in need. Just wondering.

He has received 10K so far, I decided just to leave this up thru the summer, when we close it out here in a month or two I will forward the rest of the funds to him. JW
Yup, me too, and I left this up because I still get a donation now and then.. In fact was going to take it down here a while back, but we got 2 donations that week, so I figured what the heck, might as well let it go thru the summer. JW
