I gave up trying to figure out why turnout is more or less than expected. Though this year it is probably because people heard I wasn't going to be there (daughter's graduation as well), so they just decided to stay home if I wasn't going to be there, lol! I did end up making it there in the morning. I think we had about 100 cars, so below normal given the weather. I know several people who I expected to make it weren't there, maybe they decided to enjoy the weather doing something else instead. Also a couple of other new shows have started up on the same day, they maybe taking a few Buicks away. Hopefully 2019 will in the 125+ range!
Doug I think it was in part because of Denver as some regular faces weren't there and some I know were going that way. I thought I heard around 95 and it was a perfect day, which as you say below normal turnout.Used to be 150 plus. I saw a whole bunch of first time cars Id never seen before which I saw as a positive. So hopefully it was just a off year but I do in the back of my mind wonder if it is a sign of the future for this show.
Great show as always. I think it was the year of the ‘67s. I saw a bunch of GS and Skylarks I hadn’t seen before. Got to meet most owners. Great weather as well.
Year of the 67's?! Then I really missed out! I'm sure Chris' absence certainly played a role, but you'd think more would show up as, without Chris' cars there, more people would have a chance at a Trophy! LOL
LOL Doug! I was "Display Only", no need to worry about me winning any trophies! There were a lot of really nice 67's there this year, it was great to see them all.
I figured a bunch of people stayed away because Chris only made a short appearance. He is the only recognized celebrity that regularly attends and with him only going to be there for a short time people decided to not bother!
Had a great day. Still, just over a 100 Buicks is a blast to see. Made quite some photos...posted those on FB and thought I could link them here; somehow I can't get it done (no computer, only a tablet with me here). Once back home I will retry to upload here.
You know this is gonna make him get a even bigger head and now he will never give us little people the time of day.Ever since he won best of show a few years ago hes a total primadonna
He already gave you "little people" his car, now you want time of day too? sheesh, it never ends, lol. :>)
You must have missed the post with the link. :>) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/w6bnq2a6d51575z/AADTEC8QLXWDdnPeu0f0F-eta?dl=0
I am thinking in Class V modified because of more modifications than just the hood scoop. If that was the ONLY one, I am sure you could enter the stock class, I think they allow 2 or 3 modifications.
Show is this Saturday, June 15th in Puyallup WA. Weather forecast is sun and 78 degrees. This Saturday in Midwest City, OK for BCA Nats - 91 degrees with 20 mph wind. You decide which sounds better. I will be in Puyallup, hope to see you there! :>)
Wish I was able to be there with you guys....one of these years the schedules of the show/cruise I go to and this one will hopefully work out. Have a great time, can't wait to see all the pics again!
Lucas, You wouldn't have any fun anyway. Beer garden, Buicks, beer garden, live bands, beer garden, sunshine, beer garden, street fair, beer garden, more Buicks. Oh, and did I mention they have beer? :>)
