    YES!!!!

So sorry for the loss of your father but how cool to see one of his wrench turners pick up the Buick torch and charge ahead!

I am sure I speak for everyone that we will help you however we can.

Personally speaking I am working on a kinda barn find "Poor Touring" 70 GSX tribute to keep my costs down. The interior, under the hood and in trunk will be as nice as I can make it and power will be as good as I can afford. Other than that it's gonna look down and dirty on the street and I am cool with that. Love your Lakewood traction bars and the vintage stickers (got both of those also on mine) and just general overall patina even though that is taking "Let Buick light your fire!" a little too literally!:D

Anyhow you can save a ton on paint and body work and possibly enjoy it more not sweating scratches and I have just used friends on here "trashed" (read cheap) parts and they flow right in perfectly lol

Your choice though, full resto or crispy kritter it is gonna be cool. If you go the rough route I was mentioning I will have spare parts as I collected spares of a lot of things so I could chose which one looked most correct with the looks of my car.

Either way a BIG Welcome from North Carolina! : )

Here's mine lol 455-4 speed! Woo Hoo!

    I figured that.

At the very least, get it out of the engine bay and somewhere safe.

I've been spouting off specs to anybody who will listen, my phone is full of car pictures and diagrams, not to mention all my texts threads are about cars at this point. Thank you guys for bringing me in!

Ps I didn't get to work on the car today, I had to work late :(

Awesome! My daughter is the one who takes after me. Very cool & special car, not only because it was your dad's, but also because there were a handful of people in '70 who knew exactly what they were doing when they ordered these "stripper" (straight bench seat 4-sp. being the ultimate) GS's. As you know, Buick was a luxury car & most GS's were mu h more highly optioned, but these people knew that the torque was the number that really mattered on the street (& @ the track). I still find it somewhat amazing that Buick even offered these low option 4-sp. cars.

Be thankful it wasn't a bench seat/manual steering car:). IMHO, other than maybe swapping the power steering for disk brakes (or just dropping the PS), it's actually optioned about darn near perfectly. Buckets/consolette/Rallye steering wheel/F-41 is about as Muscle Car as it gets.

I have disk brakes in the front, wasn't that normal?

No. Manual drum brakes were standard even on GS455s. Power drum brakes was one option and power disc brakes another option. Power disc brakes were standard only on the GSX.

Jesi, Here's a copy of the 1970 GS wholesale order form you might find interesting. Shows all the options and what they were available on.

Cool project! Welcome to the Buick 'nerd' group, where most have phones full of car related text and enjoy hearing (reading) specs and adventures.

When you get those docs from Mike, send a copy to Mike Trom here on the board and he'll make a very cool reproduction window sticker for you.

Here's the one he did for me.
