Look at all the dust on the car.. That makes it a barn find, and it automatically becomes a rare vintage collectible automobile that is worth no less than double the normal value..
That's Barrett Jackson money for that car. Not sure the quality of the listing is commensurate with the asking price.
If it actually had 38K on it, I could almost see it if it was well kept and clean. But anyone who was seriously considering this car would have to ask the question; why would anyone leave a nice working car to rot in a garage somewhere? If it runs and is driveable someone would have kept it up; if it had a serious problem or a cooked motor it would sit. I think if it was a real family treasure that someone would have been caring for it, not leaving an inch of dust on it or not running it. Something stinks here, and it's not necessarily my attitude.
My brother and I bought a '69 Roadrunner at B-J two years ago that had been put away in 1979 (this is all well documented, the car is all over the internet) in perfect condition. My older brother has a '70 TA Challenger he hasn't driven in 12 years because he's too busy with his drag cars but loves it so he won't sell it. He!!, my Mom hasn't driven her Aurora in 6 years and it's just a car, but she has one that isn't as nice she uses every day. It happens.
I don't know Marc, I have looked at an awful lot of low mileage cars similar to this one over the years that turn up in garages, are hidden away due to family issues and fights, or people just not willing to let them go. A lot of them have been original owner cars that family are trying to decide what to do with them now that they inherited them, they are not running and they didn't have a clue what to do with them other than sell them
My Riv was like that when I found it. 60K and in perfect running condition.Sat in the garage for many years. Grandpas car. grandson wasnt interested in it after it passed hands and he sold it to me. 2500.00
My 1988 IROC had 23,000 miles on it when I bought it in 2007 from the original owner. I have the docs to prove mileage. Low mile cars do exist for whatever the reason.
Marc they do exist ,In 2009 I picked up 68 GS 400 4spd with 1800o miles. there was not any doubt in anyone who saw or has owned the car those were orig miles
OK...I guess people do find things like this in the condition described. I sit corrected. Amazing. I've never seen anything like that, the closest I ever came was a weather-worn 49 Chevy with 45,000 miles on it. Old couple owned it from new, stopped driving it back in the 60s and it sat in a car park for the next 20 years. The interior was mint, and the fatal flaw hit it at the right time (apparently a lot of 1949 issued 216s had a problem with the #5 piston splitting) once I opened the motor up there was no ridge and the bore was perfect. So it probably was a real honest 50,000 miles, but I'm not 100% because of lack of written provenance. But the paint was shot; - this was in 1986, so the car was 37 at the time.
Because your mind is in the gutter Bob and has been since about '79 and now you've just confirmed this to everyone on here. Those on FB already knew this
