I thought some of you might be interested in some frame mods I made to the Old Iron Regal to achieve some great 60 foot times. All the horsepower in the world doesn't matter if you can't apply it to the launch pad. We consistently achieve 60" times of 1.41, with a best of 1.38. Getting 3850 lbs on 10.5" tires to launch like this has taken me years to achieve.

Along with the frame mods. shown in the in the attachments I have also boxed the side rails, narrowed the frame rails over the rear end housing and moved the instant center forward center so the car has a better anti-squat capabilities.

Very cool! Any pics of the car during launch?

Go to youtube and search weekender825, I have several videos there. The slow motion launch will be self explanatory. Watch the rear tire and wheel well relationship when all the weight is on the rear tires, this is the benefit of the moving the Instant Center forward and eliminating the squatting over the tires as most stock frame cars experiences..

I thought the goal of rear suspension mods was to move the instant center REARWARD, as the stock setup puts the IC way out in front of the car.
Examples would be the no-hop bars which move the upper arm mount on the rear UP, the Southside lower arms which move the lower mount lower, etc.

The mods shown in your pics do much to strengthen and stabilize the rear suspension, That's always a good idea.

    Nice looking Regal btw!

Aside from the addition of that nice anti roll bar set up, did you change any of the suspension mounting positions? Was the Ford 9” set up with stock position mounts?

That's the old way,..anti squat puts more weight over the tires and works well,...traditional squat works fine on great tracks but can be unpredictable
