No factory ac from any yr will bolt into a factory non ac car. Guys have done the conversion before but its not easy. For one the firewall is different
However, you can use the factory brackets to install an aftermarket style a/c system; nobody makes correct brackets in the aftermarket, to my knowledge.
Come to think of it, You would need brackets from a later car: Sixties & early seventies cars used the long axial style compressor; later cars used radial compressors. HMMM. Most later cars with the Buick 231 engine had an aluminum casting to mount the A/C compressor and alternator. Anybody know if any late 70's Buick engine cars used the short radial compressor?
Brad, Do you remember if it had an aluminum casting common to A/C and Alternator and A/C, or if it had steel components?
Steve, it's been over 35 years since I had that car...I'm just not sure anymore and my current 'Hawk doesn't have AC. I'm thinking they were steel but not positive.
