Spent some time in ER and overnight in hospital over the weekend. Doctors seem perplexed and I have follow ups with cardiologists this week. Symptoms are near passing out episodes due to heart palpitations when, and only when sitting upright. Standing, laying down, or reclining will stop the episode very quickly. I've had multiple tests, CT scans, etc and all have come out clean. I nearly passed out while driving before going to the ER. I recently came off of Xarelto which I took for 9 months due to a blood clot in my lungs last winter. Otherwise I've been healthy.
You need to ask your cardiologist about ablation therapy. I had the same symptoms as you do and having a heart rate of 180 too 200 is not fun. Search Google for ablation therapy, you'll get a better answer than I can give you. I had the procedure done in 2001 and no problems since. All the best, Korrie
Thanks Korrie. Ill ask about it. I have a friend whos teenage son had that treatment a few years ago. Going to his doctor tomorrow. It is scary when I've never had a heart issue. So far rate is still more or less normal for me
X2, Mark. I'm still enjoying life thanks to a very thorough cardiologist, Dr.H.Paul Singh. Docs should keep testing until they get to the cause of your heart issue. Sounds like Korrie has brought up a good thing to have checked.
Good luck Mark. You need to keep at it to figure it out. My doctors gave me anti anxiety books to red. Lol. I'm like noo this is physical. Until they finally got a recording at 244 bpm. Mine was SVT and had the ablation done for the short circuit. Good news is when they burn out the short it's fixed. Not a maybe deal, it's a full done deal. This was back in the late '90's. I'm sure there's new and better procedures out there now. I think you'll be fine, they were more worried about my high cholesterol. Than the bpm. They say different things set it off with different people. Mine was adrenaline.
And yes body position has something to do with it. If I would bare down on my chest I could make it go away. Learned that my self and when that 244 episode happened all hooked up and in front of them they were yelling bare down bare down! I said I know thats what I'm doing. They were surprised. Also I guess laying down and baring down at the same time has a better effect. Again good luck.
I passed out and wet my clothes a few times about 8 years ago. Each time while sitting. Finally a hospital doctor came in my room and checked blood pressure lying, sitting, standing. Said I'm ordering your doctor to take off this certain blood pressure med. (Can't Remember the name). Problem solved. Also noticed cafeen is not good to me, jitters and palpataitions occur. Also due to driving heavy trucks with no power steering, my breastbone area will ache and worry me. Hard finger tip pressure into the surrounding area and hitting with knuckles along with shoulders back and lungs full, helps releave the pain.
I know this will sound crazy, but true. When I was younger my heart would randomly skip a beat(s). Was in a car accident & had back pain & didn't put 2+2 together, but the heart problem got worse. Finally got time to go to the chiropractor and not only did they fix the back pain, but I never had the heart problem again. Think a cardiologist would've ever sent me to a chiropractor?
I have some severe back pain from a lumbar reherniated disk. Planning to have that fixed soon. There may be a link but I believe I have an undiagnosed hiatal hernia. The second cardiologist I saw is stumped. Had hard time believing I could start and stop low blood pressure induced episodes of near blackout. Wearing a heart monitor now and logging my BP and pulse. Thanks for the well wishes.
YouTube eating raw garlic. Beats are also good for your heart but better in raw form, I slice them up and pour alot of lemon on them, let sit and eat an hour later. For garlic I cut a clove up smash it up with a spoon and swallow it down with water. Don't worry put your faith in God, worrying is bad for your heart.
Thanks to all. I've been given a clean bill of health concerning heart, lungs, and circulation. The cause is a reinjury of my spine which the pain has caused a clash between my two nervous systems. It is similar to one who faints at the sight of blood. Intense pain can do the same. Now I am fighting with my insurance company to get an MRI. I found the post operative brace from my previous surgery to help with reducing stress on the injury. According to Cigna wearing a brace indefinitely is an acceptable cure. I guess it will get tossed soon.
