This was never intended to be a political comment though I understand how it can become a political argument. It is simply shocking and a very sad comment on today's society.
My first thought is to stay away from large gatherings such as concerts. Why place yourself in a risky situation?
Then I see that action completes the wishes of the criminals.
We all end up losers and being prisoners.
No win, no matter how you look at it.

You want to think of something worse? This guy had his pilots license.

Imagine a fully fueled plane going into that crowd.

There is NO perfect defense against those who are willing to die and determined to kill, if they want it bad enough they will figure out a way.

Until we can ban EVIL we need to watch out for ourselves and others.

There are no words for this tragedy. I hope the upcoming investigation yields some answers, and some insight which may prevent such a thing from happening again.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

This was, as stated, an act of a purely evil and violent individual. No matter what you do to restrict such things, evil people will find ways to do evil actions. We have to try to avoid letting these kinds of actions affect our daily lives, as difficult as that is, but keep the victims and circumstances in our minds and hearts. I'm going to a concert tonight, as a matter of fact. I go to many. And it does cross my mind at every single one that I go to, scared the living crap out of me at the first one after the Paris bombing. The next concert I went to was the Deftones in Salt Lake, who were the main act at that horrible ordeal, but I wasn't going to miss it because I was scared. Tonight will be no different, I'll be nervous, but I won't let it stop me from living my life and letting these sick pieces of ____ win.

It's sad and angers me , but I just tell myself it's Gods will and it will be done we will not and can not understand it without faith, without faith it will be impossible to cope with the loss. The older I get the more I only begin to understand it I guess , those lives lost were chosen to go and for the saved souls they are in a much much better place than you or I.

Admin edit: again, we are not having the gun debate. Your not going to change anyone's mind, so it's a pointless waste of time, with potentially destructive results to our community.

God Bless America and I pray for our country and its citizens....

Interesting how only my post has been edited but since I am not a moderator its ok to leave their posts alone. I understand my post being "Admin edited" even though it was quite tame, its your choice, but my post was not the first to mention guns and was not the one who started the debate.

Sorry Jim L. but your posts started the whole topic of gun control but yet your opinion is still posted. Nothing personal but something smells bad with this one.

If I am wrong please let me know.

It is just plain common sense to avoid the bigger debates(especially here),but I did think it was strange that this was not covered immediately when I was watching a major news network while this was supposedly happening. I did not even know that this was a Jason Aldean concert event. Absolutely none of this makes any sense.....Who does not like Jason Aldean? This would be like dressing up like "Patty the daytime hooker "and going schizo at a Madonna concert. There seems to be no motive that makes any real point or cause. I just pray that death toll stops because many are still in critical condition.

I'm somewhat aware of it. What does that have to do with this? You think the CIA wants to wipe out country music?

I was reading a bit about that after watching "The Manchuria Candidate". Pretty "out there" stuff, but it does make one wonder what a 64 year old, licensed pilot, millionaire, gun owner....was doing shooting at an innocent crowd of the everyday working man.

I just cant wrap my mind around the fact that this was a 64 year old guy who had no religious or political affiliations, by his brothers statements was a multi millionaire. Wasn't a 'gun nut" or any social media posts that would point to anything. The guy had no criminal record. The worst thing on his record was a traffic ticket that he paid for. The guy by all accounts was just a normal person. How does someone like that go straight to premeditated mass murder?

You said it in one word "premeditated"....numerous trips just to get the weapons in place. Maybe we will learn more later, but this just does not seem be motivated by anything. The guy's dad was a notorious bank robber back in the day,but he seemed to be doing exceptionally well for himself before this. I had read he went through a couple divorces and his girlfriend was out of town, but his "problems" did not seem any larger than anyone else's.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I find it sickening how some of the media, most of the asshat actors, and all of the late night idiot show hosts are trying to turn this horrific tragedy into an opportunity to push their agendas.
The sonofabitch, as mentioned acted for his own sicko reasons. Can't these jackasses just express sympathy toward the innocent victims and their families? I haven't watched the late night yappers for a long time. I used to watch for laughs and entertainment. I don't need their stupid opinionated bullcrap.

    Mike,

    Your wrong.

The post just before yours was removed, and it was from a moderator.

Maybe you missed the last part of my post that was intend to end the gun control debate.

    Here it is again.

Try not to take it personally.

Mike--This morning is the first time I have visited this thread since my last post Monday morning. So, whatever occurred since then I missed myself.

Not taken personally, too many more things going on in my life to have this post make a difference. Still find it strange that the posts that started the debate were not censored. But I guess they were before your post that ended the debate so I can kind of see the logic.

I had no way to see what posts were deleted, only those that were edited.

I try to stay out of this type of crap (gun control, national anthem, BLM, LGBT, Trump, Hillary, Obama, and the list goes on) but unfortunately we are bombarded with it 24/7 so it spills over into all parts of our lives.

    Moving on now
