Hello. Looking for 1972 gs stage 1 hardtop in flame orange with white top or flame orange with covert white top, or flame orange / arctic white with air conditioning.
I have the same car but in the convertible version without ac. It was the last car made in June of 1972.
I am also interested in a a 72 gs stage 1 flame orange convertible with white top like i have but with ac.

    thank you,
    robert malek

The 1972 Buick GS Zone cars were all convertible flame orange with white top and interior , loaded with options. I believe a couple members on here own some of those

I'm just guessing here, but I bet you really like flame orange and white :D.
If you decide you're ever interested in expanding your color choice, I've got a couple '72 Stage 1 cars I'd love to find a home for.
They are Stratomist blue with white top and interior, one coupe and one convert. Both are a/c , auto.

What I find unusual about those cars is though they were loaded with options, they didn't have body side chrome molding trim along the fenders, doors and rear quarters that I think look nice as an upgrade. Maybe its a matter of opinion but I noticed that. My car has them. I have emailed marco from the stage 1 registry if the picture he shows of the flame orange car online is properly representative or not. All of those cars were identical. I found out from him that mine is the only flame orange one without ac and apparently, maybe someone can help me here.... I have the only comfort flo made in 1972, not just in flame orange but any color. My car has 2 pull handles on the left and two pull handles on the right, below the dash, built into the floor kick panels. Never saw it before on any other skylark or gs but then again, they all had ac.

lol. Well, that is true. But i'll tell you, the number one compliment I get on the car is the color. Then, there I go in my reply saying this was one year only paint ( correct me if I'm wrong ), and I start to like it even more. We had a matching flame orange stage 1 many years ago with the brown top, my dad put a white top on it so we had the matching convertible / hardtop duo. However, there was/is a situation with my sister and now she has the car and doesn't want to give it back to my dad. I would like for us to have the pair back.
I will speak to my dad about your other two cars. We may be interested. What is the condition and can you please just send even one picture of each to my email at abc75abc@gmail.com ? I will show the pictures to my dad and wife to see if they warm up to them. It's a family affair. lol.

hello 72 stage 1. I could. However, this gets me into the mind bending quagmire of if you do that, then why stop there. I have a 71 gs 455 and if i wanted, i could simply install the 72 grill with the exhaust thru rear bumper it has and throw the vinyl top on that one. Why stop there, just get a skylark and do an identical clone for half the money and put the money into the drivetrain / suspension. Believe me, at a time when the stage 1 engine just cant keep up with the new performance cars out there and you have to put in a 455 tomahawk to be able to compete without the engine blowing up, if i cant get the real deal, i might as well get the skylark and go from there. Presently, i plan on removing the ws engine and bb trans from my stage 1 convertible, retiring and preserving them in the garage and putting in a tomahawk with a beefed up thm 400. I dont like going to the car show with my stage 1 with everyone knowing their hellcats are faster than mine. I asked ta performance about this and was told they must have had at least 100 calls from the buick guys regarding the hellcats performance. I guess we never really had the pair since the top was a different color. I'm trying to get the car with the right color. I think there were only 19 made so good luck to me, right ? lol. However, once you break from the original an add a top or change its color it takes you down a different path of couldnt i just take a skylark and..... well you know.

Yup I truly understand. My son and I both have Stage cars and we try our best for 100% correct and original altho we have the same basic philosophy on engines, we have both removed and rebuilt and now stored the #'s motors and run very warmed over 462's so we can go fast and also ave the originals for posterity's sake and the eventual next owner. Good luck with you quest!
