That's exactly how good people get jammed up.

    For EDC? M&P 9C w/external safety.
I really like my Walther P22 but its more for plinking.

At work its a Berretta M9 and an M4 w/M68 optic or ACOG depending on mission.

I'm undecided between the Springfield XDS and the M&P Shield, I'm thinking of sticking with 9mm?????

My mom unfortunately worked her way down from carrying a nice SS Colt Officers .45, then to a .380 and the last gun I bought for her that she could use was a Walther P22. Loaded it with Stingers.
She wanted to be safe while going for walks.

I love the S&W shield 9. No safety. I know it is always ready to go boom. No thought involved. Smith and Wesson made in USA, Springfield MA ironically enough. Springfield is not in Springfield MA anymore. Pretty sure they are imported too. Can't go wrong with the 9. I have 40 Compact as well and have fired 45's. Many advancements have been made in the 9 cartridge over the past few years. Many Law enforcement agencies are going back to 9 for good reason. It is all about shot placement. Follow up easier with a 9. Bad guys just don't go down because they get hit with a 45 slug anymore than another caliber. Just pray you never have to use it. That debate rages on. 9 cheaper to shoot as well.

Guns You cannot buy in Massachusetts Because of our little dictator attorney General Maura Healy operating outside any constitutional authority.

No Glock Gen 4 period(unless you get a cop to sell you one)
    No Colts
    No Remingtons
    No Kimbers
    No Taurus
    No AR15 anymore.

This is just a partial list.

    Don't move here period.

    Yup,

When I turned 21 my parents and I all got our Permits and all got 45's. My mom wanted the Officers, dad got a Commander and I got a Government model.

Mom's gun and her target from the first time she shot her 45. She was a damn good shot with a 45 for being 5'4" and 115 pounds. :)

Go with the M&P you'll thank yourself later.

Most of the top trainers will tell you the XD's fail more on average than other polymer guns like M&P, Glock etc... I have personally witnessed XD failures on more than one occasion at the range and in classes.

I bought my PPK/S privately from a woman who was 80. She had a 357 Smith on her license too!

Thanks, I think just based on it being made in U.S.A. would tip the scales to the Shield.

Found a S&W Shield 9 for 369., and a Ruger LC9s pro for 329. Lowest prices locally so far. Sound decent? The LC9 only comes with one clip, be nicer with two.
    Really want to buy both.

I love my LC9, very comfortable to carry. the Shield seems a bit more bulky...

I carry Springfield XDS 9mm with extended magazine. I never had problems shooting at the range. No jambs what so ever. I also have the XD mod 2. I don't carry it but love how it fits my hand.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

I'm old school....I carry a Ruger GP100 .357 4". It's a little heavy and a little difficult to hide, but its dead nuts reliable, accurate as can be, and I'd rather hit someone 6 times with a baseball bat than 9 or 10 with a fly swatter. Just my personal beliefs.

A fine choice, in my opinion. I love my 4" GP100 too, especially after installing the compact grip.

Yessir, I've got some "higher end" stuff, but my GP is by far my favorite. Mine's a 1989, so its got the standard grips but I've got silverwood inserts in them instead of the factory rose. Trigger pull is down to 2.7 on my scale after some work.

Not exactly a concealed carry gun unless your first name is Harry and you work in San Francisco, but one of my favorite revolvers. A 1975 model 29-2 "pinned and recessed" 44 Magnum with the 8 3/8" barrel in the wooden presentation case
