-JJH- "Works like a Buick" - a Finnish proverb

I, too, own a Buick originating from Lindsey Hopkins Buick from Marietta, Georgia. My car is a '70 Buick GS and it seems that the car spent it's first 44 yrs in Georgia (three owners that I am aware of, all living in GA), before I got it shipped to Finland in 2014.

It was a nice surprise to find some old papers in the glove compartment and all those papers were in a original Lindsey Hopkins vehicle document folder! It's not much, but in addition to the folder, I have an old service invoice and a order form for replacement protect-o-plate. Pretty cool stuff! Plus the order form for the protect-o-plate narrows down the build date nicely: on the body tag I have 06E, which I believe means fifth week of June, 1970. On the order form build month is stated to be 7. These two combined the build date should be between July 1st and 5th, 1970. Since I was born on 4th of July, there is 20% chance that me and my car car enjoy birthdays together :D :D

In addition, the form shows also the engine code (SP 485). Found the same number on the engine block. Will also look for VIN on block, but I have already quite strong feeling that I have original engine on the car.

The only odd thing is trim code 185, for pearl white buckets. I have black interior w/ bucket seats and what I've seen and doing some minor disassembly, it's either original interior or it was changed from pearl white to black in the 70's! Or a factory error...?
