Shawn, Take a trip to Georgia or Texas. Farmers are begging for hunters to take out the wild hogs ruining their crops. They offer night tours down there to take them down with AR's with night vision. Cool.

I've been wanting to!! Unfortunately I can't take the time away from work right now. We've got some wild piggies up here too, and Ohio dnr is pretty concerned about them (enough that we don't have the same caliber restrictions on them as we do deer. Also you can hunt coyote here with high powered stuff including ARs), but we don't have anywhere near the feral pig issue that Florida and Georgia are dealing with. I'd love to come help cull the herd. Mmmmmm pork......

I've tried quite a few different brands and I believe it's actually a problem with the springs in the magazines. From doing some research it sounds like a common problem. I found one guy who complained enough to beretta about it and the replaced them for free. Don't know if I will go through all that. She also seems to have a problem pulling the slide so I'm debating buying her a revolver for Christmas. We will see.

Dave a few of the others replied with the same complaints that I have heard from others. I have fired the shield in both 40 and 9 and the 9 is very nice. They are both great guns. It's just preference like everything else. They now have the shield in 45 also which has to be a blast. One of my coworkers bought that for his ccw but I havnt shot it yet.

Thanks Dan. Yes im not looking for a big caliber to compensate for lack of manhood or anything, I just wanted something different. I love my LC9 but I have carried it every day for the past three years. I have a really tiny Beretta 32 but you better have that thing about 2 feet away to hit anything. I tried to carry my GP100 357 revolver years ago with a side holster but that was just ridiculous, lol.

Keep me posted if you get a chance to shoot that shield 45. Thanks....

Canada has essentially the same laws against concealed carry by private citizens. Other than law enforcement, only those residing on the shady side seem to have handguns. We used to have easy access to handguns, but that changed sometime during the sixties.

If she has a problem racking a SA she might also be troubled with the trigger pull on a revolver, and pull off target. Try before you buy!

Very good advice! I see this all the time at the shop I work at. Also, there are certain techniques that can help individuals with less upper body strength manipulate semiautomatic actions. I end up show a lot of smaller stature individuals these methods and they are often very surprised.

Plus one on the Little G43. New FBI ballistics are pushing the 9mm as a very effective round with new advancements in tech. Love my 43, also a Colt 2" in .38cal. Keep it simple and carry the gun you practice with and shoot well. Otherwise it's just expensive noise!

Glock 23 with a spare mag or two. It's a first gen Glock that has been tuned and smoothed up by a certified Glock Armorer and was his duty weapon while on the local PD. I have never fired a more smooth, consistent firearm in my life. I pocket carry (yea, I know. It's a stretch) everyday or have a shoulder holster I sometimes carry with too.

I just picked up one of these. Did a little reading up on them. Made by Ranger Manufacturing for Interarms which had the license from Walther. Then a week later, a PPK/S fell into my lap. So now I have 2 of them!

I some times carry an Xd 40 sub. I love it but wish I could get an xds or xdm in my state. I also have an LC9 but I can't seam to get a decent group like I could with my xd. I switch between both I'd rather have the xd but the LC9 is easier to conceal.
