Hi Guys, I am a second amendment guy I guess, I carry every day. I have been carrying a Ruger LC-9 for the past three years. I really like it, fits comfortably in my front pocket. I was wanting something new, something different. Was looking for some suggestions, what do you guys that carry, carry every day? Not looking to buy a fancy Kimber, cant afford that anyway. I think of it as more of a work tool, durable and reliable, and most of all comfortable. I am not set on a 9mm either but I definitely don't want to go any smaller in caliber. Thanks.

    I have a Smith & Weston M&P Shield 9mm.
Actually going shooting with my son tomorrow at an indoor range.
We have put over 600 rounds without one jam so far.

Bursa Thunder 380. Based on a Walter PPK, $300 new, great gun never jams very good reviews. I don't care for hammer-less guns, I leave one in the chamber so I like the idea of having a hammer to cock to shoot. It also has a thumb safety that raises the hammer off the chamber as an added safety with one in the chamber.
Also have two J-Frame S&W SS 38+P five shot with laser grips. The guns new are $280 and laser grips are $65. I like the idea of revolvers for my wife and daughter, just point and shoot. For home defense or out on the property fast and simple.

    All easily concealable.

    Ruger LCP .380
Nice and small. Can even carry it in my gym shorts. .380 still have some knock down power especially with the different types of ammo

George, how does yours shoot? Even at 7 yards, mine always shoots really low. Just curious if yours is the same. When I shoot my Glock, I put the front sight just under the bullseye. Do you normally cover the bullseye with the front sight on your Shield?

When I first shot it, all shots were low and now no problem.
That is the reason why I go to the range to know how to shoot it.
    They all take practice!

I was just on the website, that is a nice looking gun, I think I will look further into that one. Did you happen to look at the 40 or 45 calibers in that model? the weight and length specs are about the same, wondering about the width? I like the 9mm but I was thinking about getting a bigger caliber just for something different. I don't want it to get too bulky tho.

I have a Massachusetts class A high-capacity permit, which allows me to carry anything legal. Massachusetts law does not differentiate between open and concealed carry, but my new state of Florida does. I will have to take a revenue-raising "concealed carry" course before I can carry here. :af: From what I have heard, the Massachusetts course is several orders of magnitude more comprehensive then the Florida course, but there is no reciprocity.

I carry my Glock 42 daily. Light, accurate, reliable, concealable, especially as I wear a suit

I got my Florida through the mail. Gave them a fingerprint card, the application, some money and a copy of my NRA basic pistol course completion certificate. Got my Florida license in the mail in 5 weeks. In comparison, it took NY 11 months and that was after an in person, sit down interview, 4 character references from people Ive known at least 10 years who live in the same county and who I have no relation to. (two of which needed to be notarized:rolleyes:) and I still couldn't get issued an unrestricted full carry. And I live here!!! My county puts an "administrative restriction" on my license so Im only allowed to carry to and from the range. In order to get a full carry on LI, you need documented evidence that your life is in danger- death threats, order of protection, etc. Or.......you carry a lot of money on a weekly basis. So the only way to get a full carry on the island is if you protect money or your a scumbag. Which is the only way I know to get other people so mad at you that they want to kill you.

    Hey!!!! :p

For me it's a G43 in an alien gear cloaktuck 3.0 and spare mag most days. Once in a while my xd40 subcompact (attn Steve Reynolds!) in a crossbreed supertuck or Blackhawk leather belt holster, that was my first carry set up about 8 years ago.

At my "fun job" it's open carry, so all bets are off. G19, Sig 226 legion, Remington R1 enhanced are all in the rotation. Even a wheel gun once in a while for good measure. Variety is the spice of life!

PS, loving the gun chat threads around here lately!! Of we can keep it civil and non-political, there can be a lot of good info shared I bet.
