    All:

I'm starting a new project with my 73. Now that I have dug in, I am considering putting power disk brakes on it. Then I thought about a whole z28 type conversion that would include a faster steering box and thicker sway bars.

Has anyone done this to their Apollo affordably ? I'd like to keep OE control arms if possible.

I didn't go that far but I just put a Power brake booster and Master cylinder on a Manual Drum brake car. It was like night and day. Plenty of stopping power now.

I have power drum now. Is that what you have now?

It was Manual drum until I converted it to Power drums. A world of difference .

Why not just use the a body disc brakes and install better sway bars then upgrade the steering box I understand there is a guy in Missouri that can get you set up with a quick ratio box and pump to match Lee Power Steering I think something like that

I thought about the Z-28 type package since X and F bodies I believe share the same front suspension pieces. I am not certain A body stuff will fit on an X body. I would also like to try and run the smaller rallye wheels that came with the car.

    67 - 69 F cars and 68 - 74 X cars have significant suspension interchange. 75 to 79 X cars have some interchange with 70 - 81 F cars, although not everything.

    Good to know.

After researching upgraded steering boxes (new or rebuilt), I am not sure its worth 500.00. I do want to run a thicker sway bar and the power disk brakes though. PST has an affordable brake conversion although I am uncertain it is compatible with the stock 73 Apollo Ralleye wheels.

I guess I could move to black steelies and poverty caps if need be
