1970 LeSabre in a scrap yard. Low miles & lots of good parts.

I found this in a scrap yard today & am going back in the morning to pull a bunch of parts. Call asap for fastest service. Odometer says 34,xxx & I think they are original miles from looking over the car. 350 engine. I'm going to try to pull the complete interior & any good exterior pieces. Of course they won't sell the whole car.

That interior does look like the low miles are correct. I agree. I would grab everything I could as well, including the remaining good sheet metal and rear bumper.

 

That was one of the cars I grew up in.One of my favorites,as far as the family cars go. Wouldn't mind finding a nice one of those. My oldest sister was always the last person to drive our cars before their demise.She would wreck them,blow them up,or even burn to the ground.When it came to the Buick,she put one of the rods through the oil pan,and littered the highway with scrap & oil.Even back in the 80's,it was common to see that center emblem missing from the bumper.

can't help but wonder what the cost of the whole rear clip would be. Storage would be a pain but if a guy had a wildcat hardtop or convertible wouldn't these parts be the same?

 

Bad end to a very nice car. Yes, there's lots of good parts there-late Wildcat body, too.

 

Too bad they won't sell her complete. Too nice!

 

I would be interested in the brake pedal pad.

Going back in about 10 hours to spend a few hours pulling parts. I'm trying to buy the whole thing, we will see...

 

It's a damned shame the old girl made it this far only to get put down now. I know everyone says modern cars with crumple zones and such are safer, but look at the font end, then look at the dash. That's some structural integrity there. I hope if it was the driver's fault he or she is grateful to be alive. I don't need parts but at quick glance I see an AM/FM in the dash, what are probably T-3 headlights, complete interior, dash pad, knobs, etc, and what looks like a tri-shield mirror. Is it a disc brake car, too? Maybe they'll sell the whole car, good luck!

This vehicle needs a left front 3/4 & frame rail work to be put on the road again. It did take a good "Hit" but I believe is repairable.

 

yes and a helluva lot less time and money than fixing a rust bucket.

 

Went back first thing this morning & pulled almost the complete interior. The owner of the yard does not want any parts pulled from the doors, inside or out. I removed the dash, instrument cluster, rear seat, rear side panels, seat belts, sunvisors, mirror, & a few other bits & pieces. Every part & piece is pretty much perfect. I opened the trunk from the back seat & found a super nice jack, trunk light, & trunk mat. Pulled all those & all the emblems also. The trunk lid is excellent. I'm going back Monday morning to start under the hood & onto the brakes. The owner also said he legally can't sell the whole car for some legal reason so I guess I'll disassemble it all at the yard & leave him with the shell.

One thing I noticed about this car is there was no evidence of a driver being inside the car when it was crashed. No head print in the windshield, no bent or even cracked steering wheel. No nothing. So I'm thinking the car was parked when it was hit???

I have not seen a lot of these cars in the past but looking at this one makes me want one!!

OK V8 Buick People: Too bad about this one. Had it been an A body someone would have had already put it together. I liked these new much better than Skylarks and for years couldn't figure out why the Skylark trumped them.

The original spare tire is on the left front I think. Has the double band white wall.

 

I would try then to get both doors and have both quarters cut off so that the cut is center trunk

 

You gonna dig tge engine and trans out?
