Hey guys, I really wish I had more time to post on here. Stinkin job. Figured I'd at least show off Wagon up on the rack ready for a complete R&R. JW's 455 is sleeping nicely in some plastic. Time to resto the frame, clean up the body, and update...everything... Next step is new frame boxing.... I may not be on much but I'll post pics. :3gears:
...well, some progress to show... The frame, underside, suspension are now done. Working up the doors and the final sanding is in progress. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Color...well...I could actually use some advice here...I was going to go with a Silver - 1967 Buick Platinum Mist but right now I am thinking to go with a 2 tone - keep the original green but go with black foe everything above the top body-line...roof, hood, window braces... ...any thoughts?? The shifter guts are the standard G-body console...the handle is something I made a few years back. Rob! Good to hear from ya. I am hoping to do another NL contract in June - if so we've gotta plan a run.
Lookin' good Clint.. You might want to consider a variation of the factory Regal two tone, as seen on our old race car.. Those are early 2000's GMC truck colors. It's actually the lighter grey below the mid door line, but it's hard to tell with the continency stickers.. It was nice when broken up with a red pinstripe. JW JW
Wow, I haven't posted on this project in 2 years....bit embarrassing that! Well, due to work silliness this thing got halted in 2011 but here's where it ended up.... Managed to get the paint done then pretty much got the car back into my garage where it has sat for the last 2 years. The frame shop that checked it out after bolt up gave me a report that she's finally a straight frame and a clean car. Here's how it sits today and will probably be "stuck" for another couple years as I can barely pick at it ou: Hope these pics help out a few of you with your projects!
I'm really overdue to post an update... Got her up and driving last winter so it's been out to the shops. Leather interior, wiring, alignments, and various tires added to the mix. Biggest change was having the old Century interior redone in grey leather. I flipped the usual GN colors and had all the stitching done to match the old car. Finally had some highway miles and a little cornering test too: .98 skidpad but was still comfortable at highway speed. Weight is up a bit at 3128. Very weird being able to rely on it as a driver again as it had sat for so long. Main problem...the tires seem to smoke a lot. I also have a strange itch to go fuel injected. Took a couple pictures against my bone stock 1978...kind of a before 'n' after...
Man this section is dead! Your car looks great! Wish I could find a wagon. I can't get past that stationary glass in the rear doors though. I too have thought about fuel injection but it may have to wait a few years and see if my regal project becomes a seasonal driver. I just started mine up today after sitting for two months. I got the choke set pretty close. It isn't such a chore to get it running anymore. Got the electric fans all wired up and tucked factory style. I like seeing updates in this section. Lets get some more 80s representation!
How about some engine pics? I got a Turbo hood for my regal. I had to use a spacer on my intake for the 200-4r bracket to clear so then I had to go to a 2 inch tall air filter. Sucks. Yanked the cruise out and set it aside for later since I didn't feel like modfiying a bracket to make it all fit. Thought about using the cruise control switch for tcc control.
Gotta say Clint - real glad you saw this project through to completion. Awesome effort and results Congrats :beer

Project was in the works for a long time, and after 8 revisions of this car I think this one will have to stick around for a while....welll....maybe after I do some injection. ...and some engine pics since it was asked above: On it's way for rebuild: just before install. Been a while, but this update is not good news. The valve train went splat in July and I put the car away until now. This engine is from 2008, but it only had about 100 hours on it. Finally had time to pull it apart and found that the the roller rockers were not tightened down correctly. The cap dropped off the driver side rocker arm and it sheared. 3 other nuts were very, very loose (finger tight). There's no lock washer or nylock on there to resist the vibration...but the torque wasn't good on the other nuts...so kinda hard to identify the root cause. Took some video of the loose nuts and the sheared arm so I can diagnose it better. Next step is a leak-down and boroscope to see if there was any collateral damage. ray: If all goes well I just need an arm and a retorque of every nut and bolt on the engine. After that...dunno. Kinda thinking to make it a bit more driveable. EFI? LS swap? Gear Vendors? Stay tuned....
