Pics for those interested. The Super Charger Store in Arizona made the iron block IMG_0377.JPG P2090192.jpg P2090191.jpg P2090178.jpg P6070004.jpg kit for me. The aluminum kit was made by a Dodge funny car engine builder, a friend of John Everett.

When did you get this TA iron block? Was it a custom order deal?

The iron block is only a stock block for mock up. I wish Mike would make iron blocks I really don't care if the were cast in another country.
Mine is an F3R-139 about the same as the current 136. Around 50#'s of boost and apron 3000 HP on race gas. WE will run alcohol and nitro methane. We have a close relationship with the top engine tuner in Nostalgia Top Fuel. We will have to run a 6:71 in that class. The pro charger should be faster at 4000 cfm

ken, could you please explain why you would rather an iron block, instead of an aluminum block in a boosted application. i have heard more than one person say this about iron over aluminum in the past... mostly chevy guys. thanks for any reply

An aluminum block will cost you 50 horse in a N/A application because the bores move around. The big dogs running 2,000hp+ With an aluminum block run a billet or forged (both solid) piece. Check out the stuff Alan Johnson sells. You wanna go big power adder on a "budget" you need a top of the line iron and should save about 1/2 the cost maybe less

3000 HP is asking a lot out of an aluminum water block. Are you planning on filling it with epoxy? Some people swear by it, while others say it creates more problems than it is worth. Dry deck would not be a bad idea.

Please explain Dragweek winner for two years now? All aluminum block water jacketed making north of 3000+ hp and running mid to low sixes with ease and how about larry larson and his very wicked truck running a high five second quarter mile pass and then driven it home well over three hundred miles away in either direction. Both are water jacketed engines. One proline, one a tom nelson engine. Its how you build them.
