    Dear V-8 Buick longroof fans,

Now that my trusty wagon is finally operational once more, I've started to explore the vintage trailer world a bit and it is a wild and woolly place indeed! As part of this I have subscribed to Vintage Camper Trailers magazine:

On page 21 of Issue #16 is a contraption that I've never seen before:

That's correct, this is the back of a 1957 Chevy wagon that has been converted into a teardrop styled small travel trailer!

On the web I was able to locate two Photos taken at the 2014 Pismo Beach Vintage Trailer Rally. Here is the rear view of trailer:

Note the really nice looking cabinetry.

Here is the front of the trailer. Once more the quality of the body work is really outstanding.

If anybody is curious to know how this fellow built this trailer, there is a build thread on TriFive Chevy forum:

    http://www.trifive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91374

However, you'll have to become a member of that forum in order to see the photos.

I don't know if I want a Buick wagon back-half transformed like this, but I have to give the fellow credit for something of a masterpiece in its own right.

    Cheers, Edouard

When I get to the point that I spit and crap money, I might consider doing something like that.

Hope he's got a big block in the tow vehicle.
That trailer has to weigh a quite a bit.

Think this trailer is heavy . . . (Re: A station wagon "teardrop" travel trailer?)

Dear Ken, Dean, and V-8 Buick observers of bizarre sleeping quarters,

Actually, it probably weighs no more than 1000 pounds and could be handled by any station wagon of the period. For a trailer that really does need a big-block, try this one on for size!

But don't worry about dropping 10 grand or more for the top of the line Buick big-block. This baby will cost ya' at least $100,000!! :dollar:

The restoration was featured in the TV program Flippin' RVs:

If you haven't watched this show, try to catch it someday. Even if you never, ever had any interest in vintage travel trailers, it is nonetheless very entertaining. After all, one cannot live on classic cars alone! :Brow:
