Just a quick update if you missed the update thread in the bench.
We got to the track this past weekend and did very well. Read the other thread for that http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?269714-Supercat-200-quot-Front-Engine-Dragster-Updates-History
All the parts we had to make for this temporary engine worked great so they are ready for the Tomahawk...
We will go testing in about a month to get the engine dialed in better. First pass Sunday was an 8.25 @166 just driving it down the track. Check out this video and follow it to the recent uploads.

We have been out twice since then and blew the tires off at both testing sessions. John has been busy with a move so he may have posted in another thread but I haven't seen it. He is ordering bead locks for bigger tires and putting his on wider rims to help put more rubber on the ground especial at shift point 300 feet out. We are not going out again until both sets of tires and his move is complete. I would say 30 to 45 days. We backed the timing off 10 degrees to kill the power and torque but that wasn't enough. John has talked extensively to the tire manufactures and top alcohol tuners in the country. They just cannot believe the torque that motor has. Basically a 462". We weighed the dragster at over 1700 #'s. That's a lot more than we thought.

Well it is time for an update:TU:
Today Ken sent a big box of Fun to the East Coast....... total weight including the box 1085lbs.:Brow:
The box should be here in about 5 days.
Kens life out west is calming down some since his move.
Jenn and I have been working a lot since the move to Florida, which is good. The house is about done so the next step in the life of the Supercat dragster is about to begin.
We will go out this week with the dragster and try to break into the 7.50s @ 180+ .
Best run to date was a 7.82 when we toasted the converter and trans. Best mph so far has been 179.8
    I'll post more next week.
We are really looking forward to the future.

Kens box and 2 shots of the car from Orlando with the current iron 462.

There is also another solid Tomahawk block on it's way soon from TA.
That block will be paired up with the pro charger.
It will be about 32 cu.in. bigger than the other block at about 477cu.in.
It will also be much higher on the compression ratio than the other block that is at 6.75-1.

Good to hear John! I was just thinking about your car earlier this week :) and then there's an update. Kind of far away, but any chance you may be running the car around the first weekend of August? We'll be in The Villages visiting my Mom & Sis July 28 to Aug 4.

The methanol pro-charger engine should power the dragster to approximately 5.80 @ 255mph
We are shooting for 5.60 @ 265 with the 671 blown nitro engine.
The plan is to run top dragster by the end of the end of the year with the 477 cube Tomahawk(pro-charged). We would be one of the only FED's running in the class, let alone a Buick:TU:.

Craig my brother in laws mom lives in the Villages also.
When Jenn and I built the Supercat it was an excuse to hang out with friends........
I'll contact you to see when you can meet us at Speedworld in Orlando. I'll see about getting more of the Buick community there to say hello.
The car is up and running so lets have some fun:3gears::grin:

Well that was a load off my truck and out of my very small garage. Went from 4400 sq ft to just over 400. So I sold most of my cars and rented storage at Harrisons place in Upland. That was a life saver. I was running out of time for the move. Im flying to Johns place the end of this month as we are getting very close now on 2 designs of an all out race cylinder head. They want to wait till I get their before they do anything. Not sure if that is good or bad. At least one motor should go together soon. Hopefully with the 447cfm heads or one of our new ones! John and I have some decisions to make. For all of you who want a cast head with water jackets, TA is working on them but you will have to ask him for a schedule. I never speak for TA but I "think" the 350 parts will be first. I will say I am still connected with TA and plan on keeping it that way. He has gone out of his way to help with the solid blocks and heads to make the R&D we have done possible. Our goal is to help the cars going in the 7's and faster to go well into the 5's!!! Yeah Yeah Yeah its not cheap but it is possible:)

Most everything has arrived:TU: pictures attached of a few of our pathways to some fun.
We also met with the head programmer Sunday and Ken was very surprised at the level of technology we are using to achieve what we are after.
We will have a physical model of our new head by the end of July and 4 proto type chambers we are sending out for pricing and flow variance from manufacturing companies.
We are going out Sunday with the car Shooting for the mid seven range at Orlando Speedworld. They just finished redoing the track this past week:3gears:

After seeing in person what the current state of technology can do for a cylinder head or any part, the old way of time consuming flow boxes and detailed plans is now out dated! Some of you techies probably already know the possibilities. If we had been in line earlier we would already have finished heads. REMEMBER, we are making billet heads. A cast head with water jackets would be more expensive and time consuming. This technology will make your head spin and with lightning speed!!! We will see what can be done to cut in line. Is that fair?
