Hector, please forgive my ignorance, but what is the benefit of the quick ratio steering box? Less turns?

    Hector,
What can you do for a 67 Wildcat steering gear? I've replaced mine with a rebuilt unit from AZ (all I could get at the time), but kept the original. I'm considering getting it rebuilt (by you) and re installing it because it was born with the car (I'm not sure I'd keep the other one, since one steering gear every 48 years doesn't constitute an equipment problem). Do you work on these units? Can they be "upgraded"? Please let me know, and we'll go from there.

    cheers,
    Joe

I was hoping for something more definitive... I'll keep looking locally and see what happens.

Joe, what you have is an "808" box for a big car/riv. A box from a '71-'76 big GM car/Riv. or Caddy variable ratio from '67-'76. is a faster ratio & a bolt-in swap. You may need to change the pitman arm & use your old one. I've done this MANY times. You could have as little as 2 1/2 turns lock-lock. Makes a WORLD of diff. & a much better driving keeping up with today's cars. So much so that I've been told on my '64 Riv. from others who have driven it that it almost feels like "Rack & Pinion".
