455 long block. All the oil mods done (front cover, oil filter adapter, oil feed to mains), dual groove cam bearings, dual roller timing chain, new pushrods, Comp Cams hydraulic. http://www.compcams.com/Company/CC/cam-specs/Details.aspx?csid=1462&sb=2 .038 over Ross flat top pistons (close to zero deck, so arround 11-1), factory rods with ARP bolts, main studs, head studs, 71 heads, stage 1 valves with mild port work. TA deep pan pick up, I deepened the pan myself, motor was balanced and comes with the factory flex plate it was balanced to. History: This motor was built years ago as a spare motor, used for one Buick Nats then it sat in the corner. I bought it and tore it down two years ago, installed new bearings, rings, cam and lifters. The comp cam above was the closest thing to the Window Rattler cam I could find that was in stock at the time. It behaves and sounds like a window rattler (very rough idle). The motor was at the track twice. Best ET was 11.53@113.95 in a 3500 lb car, 10" Coan converter, 4.10 gears, 9" slicks, Qjet, shifting at 5500. There was one problem that ended day two, twice I broke a stamped steel rocker arm. It turned out I didn't know the heads have TA dual valve springs for a solid cam on them. So the motor will not come with rocker arms because I don't trust them at this point. The inner spring needs removed, or hydraulic springs installed or a mechanical cam installed. I'm putting a stock engine in my current project so I no longer have a need for this. Motor is pick up only, I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio. PM me any questions or for additional pics, thanks for looking. $1900.
machined local. The guy I bought it from made his own deck plates he'd give to the machine shop to use when doing the bores. No one local had any for a Buick. I ran a dial bore gauge through the rods and mains and both were round. Bearing clearance was .0025-.00275 main and .0025 rods.
In Line, but I will want shipping to MN. Wiling to pay for crate and hassel. I'll PM you my email and phone; maybe we can discuss. Thanks, Machinefarmer.
Sorry, I've got to pass too. Checked into shipping today and crazy expensive. Good value, it should sell. Machinefarmer
No more than 12 passes. I put it in the car just for the 2011 GS Nats, tested at Tristate one weekend before. Took it out after BG. ---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 PM ---------- Yes. They were originally cut for a TA308 cam.
Monday bump. How about $2000 with a set of 1-7/8" TA chrome headers. Only about 50 runs on the headers.
How about $1800 with headers. I will not have time to deal with shipping right now so I'm back to picked up or meet within a reasonable distance. I will also very likely be in Columbus for the BPG meet.
