    Hi, folks . . . I wrote something yesterday and then it got accidentally deleted while editing, so i'll start over.

    Bob and Dan have you guys and gals fill out a tech card with all the specs of the car, such as year, engine, hp, and a few other items. It also has your name and hometown, among other things. While in the tower, these are what I reference when announcing. Perhaps you could remember a few things to make my job a lot easier? :Smarty: To wit:

    1. If you have poor handwriting, please write in a way (block letters? whatever works for you) that makes it more legible for me.

    2. If your name is a tongue-twister, it always helps to indicate how it's pronounced. For example, I can pronounce "Dellalibera" not I can never remember whether "Mino" is Mee-no or My-no. (I've gotten over the embarrassment of asking every year.:eek:)

    3. Ditto about the town where you're from - is "Clio" Clee-oh or Cligh-oh? Only if you want me to get it right!

    4. In the past, I've had participants fill out info on their cars that were not accurate. I'm sorry, but a 1972 GS Stage 1 doesn't have 360 hp from the factory - that's 1970's number. And, for example, if you own a 1970 GS 455 and you built it up to Stage 1 specs, please indicate this because when I see you list a 455/360 but the badges on the car show a GS 455 (which was rated at 350hp), it confuses me . . . and then I tell the audience the wrong thing.

    5. Is there something interesting about your car? You drove 1000 miles (or 1609 kilometers for you Canadians) to get to MI? Are you the original owner, or have owned it for quite a long time? Is there a rarity factor? (Sorry, Mopar guys, won't fall for the "1 of 1" thing.) I think you get the idea . . . tell me something interesting so I can broadcast it for everyone to hear.

    6. If you have trouble getting to the staging lanes when your round is called, please let someone know so we can accommodate or, unfortunately, eliminate you. Expediting rounds is the hardest part for everyone on the ground, but the race needs to go on. Everyone understands mechanical gremlins creep up, but holding the race up will result in public humiliation with a wink and a smile, so be prepared.

    7. Sometimes it may be hard to hear the announcements for #6 above, which is understandable when your focus is on the car, so consider this a reminder that you and your crew need to be cognizant of the PA system. If you're hard of hearing, appoint someone else to pay more attention.

    8. Most of all, HAVE FUN, and travel safe!

    That's Dee-eh-go!:rant::laugh:

    Additionally, I want to get the attention of any HUNTERS:

    My friend invented this gun oil. As I know MI is the biggest hunting state in the US, I figured I could try to bring some samples for you guys (provided his package comes to me on time). Hit me up at the show and I'll give you one. Here's their site:

    To add to Diego's message if you think you are going to run faster than 11:49 please note that you will not be allowed to run. Anyone who does run faster than this will be required to put their car on their trailer and they will be disqualified from the event and will not be allowed to run. So for those of you who think the Pure Stock people will let you run you must know it is out of their hands and will be strictly enforced.

    Thank you for your attention in this matter.
