455 4speed posi car that was purchased new in IL. went to PA. then to WI and finally here to Meridian Idaho./Originally a all white Full dress Skylark, 340/300. Now 1970 Cascade blue w/1970 455 .060 over mild build. 4 speed is a rebuilt 7K T-10 out of a 65' GS. 70' disc brakes, PST front end. Not a pedigree but it all comes together nicely.
Hey Guys, I been doing this trip for about 50 years now and in that time I've been criticized for everything from shopping swap meets to my cars not being "Correct". Well, I'm not or never been a high dollar collector. I do most everything myself or on a shoe string. I have always built what "I" liked and how I thought the car looked or ran the best. All on a tight budget. Maybe I'm getting sentimental in my old age but the comments you all left me here mean allot. Been a long time coming. Thank you! OJ
Your car looks great! It still looks like a buick, still is powered by a buick and is tastefully simple.Nothing wrong with that.I would drive it anyday. :TU:
Your car looks great!:TU: Having bought my convert in 1975,and just getting it "my way" a couple years ago,i know the pleasure your feeling:laugh: I took a few libertys on my car too,i think you should have it the way you want, good job.:beer
You should be proud of your car. No need to defend what you've done to it to make it YOURS ! I love it man.
Thanks Paul. As if this was't enough I'm now doing a 66' Sportwagon. Hope I live another 9 years to see it complete. OJ ---------- Post added at 12:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:46 PM ---------- Hey Bill, this is not were your parts are going, got a 66' Sportwagon to keep me bleeding for the next 9 years. Thanks, OJ
That car looks grate, I admire your tenacity. I too am trying to build a 67 GS on a shoe string budget and really don't care if I;m 0 correct. I just want a cool car that runs good and is fast, You have achieved that goal in spades, your car is beautiful wait a go! PS; Are any car's really %100 finished?
