If I'm talking to someone who may not celebrate Christmas, I say Happy Holidays.

    I say Merry Christmas!

I say it Loud and Proud and will do so even when it is ruled to be a hate crime to utter such hurtful words in this country.

    Merry Christmas! :beers2:

I stilll say Merry Christmas but I have to rant a little.
Was having a dinner meeting at the Senior Center (yes I'm old)
some sweet little girls scouts came in and sang us some Christmas songs.
A little out of tune and I can forgive that, but also nice, they passed out
some home made Christmas cards. More that one said Marry Christmas and we had a hard time reading that. Now these girls are about 11 - 12 years old! I shudder at the dumbing down of our school systems!:Dou:

    Mike,

I have friends who are of faiths different than mine, and some who say they have none at all, who still wish me a merry Christmas every year because they know me and know where my heart is and they want the best for me.

Hearing that from them makes appreciate them that much more.

Sounds sappy, but it is what it is.

I'm a Merry Christmas kind of guy although I'm not very religious either

I saw this on facebook the other day and got a kick out of it...

"Just so everyone knows, I have a CHRISTMAS TREE in my living room (not a holiday tree), my family are getting CHRISTMAS PRESENTS (not holiday gifts) and we will eat CHRISTMAS DINNER(not a holiday meal), and I will attend a CHRISTMAS PARTY (not a holiday party). I will also very cheerfully wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS! (not happy holidays). By the way, if you want to have a Happy Hanukah , by all means do, I respect that. If you want to have a Blessed Kwanzaa, I also respect that. I want to have a Merry Christmas, so I ask YOU to respect that!"

I say Merry Christmas just like I say one nation, under God when I say the Pledge of Allegiance. I am not really a religous person, just a little too red blooded and usually say these things to piss off the bleeding hearts; and because I love God and my country.

I hate it when people say "Happy Holidays" this time of year because it's more PC. They don't say it any other time of year.

Christians celebrate the birth of Christ this time of year.

    It's Merry Christmas ! ! !

I say Merry Christmas - it annoys me when local towns try to change their "Christmas Tree" lighting to a "holiday tree" lighting.

I find myself using both Merry Christmas and happy holidays for whatever reason. I dont think I consciously use one instead of the other purposely, its just kinda whatever rolls off the tongue. Although, its probably 80/20 that I say Merry Christmas.

And on that note, Merry Christmas to all my V8Buick friends!!:TU:

If I know someone's religious belief, I offer them the corrisponding salutation because I respect their right to choose their own religion. If I dont know, I wish them happy holidays

In years past, The Minnesota State Capitol had a "Holiday" Tree and a Menorah. I haven't been there this year or know if they have them both this year. I just find it discriminating to have 1 religions symbol and change the name of another. It is a CHRISTMAS TREE!!

I say Merry Christmas. I am not religious, but visit relatives in Florida who are. When my wife and I are about to head home, they always pray that we have a safe trip. How could anyone possibly take offense at that? I don't see how any reasonable person could take offense when someone is wishing them well by saying "Merry Christmas." I'm not Jewish, but If someone wants to wish me Happy Hanakah (I probably murdered the spelling on that - and I grew up in a heavily Jewish community!), I am OK with it.
