So the capability of heads to flow 250+@.600" lift will need a manifold that can be capable of flowing an average of 300CFM's. This is one of the reasons we could use an Edelbrock,

we need to tell edelbrock we use there carbs too.wonder if holley will make us a intake, they own weiand intakes. they could make it to fit there holley carbs.

I mentioned that the "New" manifold should have multiple bolt patterns for various carbs. Should have A/C bolt holes for brackets for both 1x4 & 2x4 manifolds. Should be enough "Meat" on the manifold to be able to cut down the base if nec. to fit under ALL hoods if needed. And other things I've forgotten.

Walt, I think the sq. bore and q-jet are about the same except I am sure the plenume is bigger on the q-jet.
I will find the numbers I have wrote down. But to compare them with Greg G. # could be a little defferant. I am sure that I used a defferant size bore adaptor. His # and mine are all close. And I know he was going for balance runners and I started going for improveing every runner and not as much for balance. I do know you want balance in the runners.
Last december I read where marty said he had 6 intakes that were going to be ready by christmas. 2011?:Do No:
I called edelbrock the 1st week of may and they said the intake has been talked about. What ever that means.
Tom, I agree I just wanted to get as much air in as I can. I still think the velocity will be up there and with more air mabey my nailhead will still have good low end and when I put my foot in it ,It opens up the top end a little which would be kinda fun:laugh:
Also the ported runner on a head I have is choked down with my eelco bolted on to it. With the ported factory intake I have gotten it to match the eelco.I am kinda excited about that. This runner is flowing 220 at .600 and with a intake on it it is only at 205 at .600 lift. I have heard this many times but it is sinking in finally, I am flowing heads with the intake on it. It is a total package. :TU:

Hey doc good to hear your back. Now for a little bad news. It took me a couple days of trying but I got through to a tech at edelbrock who said that "at this time edelbrock will not be doing anything with the buick nailhead. They looked at a few of the older engine styles out there and will be going a defferant direction at this time. Thanks for calling." :ball:
Oh well it was worth the call to at least know.
