Joe, I see you stated that NAPA still had the Rocker Shafts but I just called my local NAPA Store & was told they had no listing on them. Would you have a Part Number by any chance? Doug & all, they WERE made by "Sealed Power" for all the auto parts stores. They have been sold out for more than 3 years & Sealed Power has no plans to make more anytime or in the near future. I have called Sealed Power & they are an extremely low "Priority" item. Read, NO PROFIT!!!! The only ones you may find are in older stores that have them on the shelf. Even calling the MAIN warehouse they don't have any & they have no stores or distribution centers that show any in stock. I do have new shafts made for me by the same supplier who makes "My Rockers". They are $100.00 a pair & include the mods I make.
Tom is right. It was a few years ago that I looked into them. I did buy the new shafts Tom sells when I got the roller rockers from him. I think they are a little heavier duty-thicker walls than the original and Tom modifies them to oil the rockers better.
I have some leaky freeze plugs and gaskets on the 66 401 that I was going to pull and replace them. Where or who has said rockers and shafts available? Any harm in adding them to a ~70K stock setup?
no harm at all... I added them to my 115k 425 and have run over 10k with no ill effects... just a good idea to check valve to piston clearence is all

TTT: To The Top To The Topity Top Top: Toms way of saying TTT Bump: Bump back up to the top "roller rockers" was used because a while back some were arguing that Toms rockers are not true roller rockers as only the tips are rollerized. You folks are nit-picking alot of wording on an otherwise good thread. But thanks for keeping it TTT!
Hey, the Kenne-Bell rollers were the first back in the day for the SBB and BBB, people flocked to get them too! They only featured bushings at the fulcrum with rollers at the valve tip but that was all we had, and it was a big improvement over not only the 455 stock stamped design, but also the 400-430 bushed rockers that would break the steel tip inserts. Progress is progress! Just don't equate a bushed fulcrum with a roller bearing fulcrum, that's all. Devon
