    Hi all,

What had traditionally been a closed event to Oldsmobiles, only, has been rejigged to include all GM makes and models. Here's the condensed version of the details provide by the B.C. Oldsmobile Club, who are hosting this event:

for further information on any of the events posted on the calendar; e-mail Chris at: toph-r@shaw.ca

I will try to take the day off, but only if the weather is good. Tentatively, there may be three of us attending from the forum. I'll remind Shaun, of the Buick GNRA Club, of the event and he can blanket e-mail the membership.

I'll post more details, once John, of the B.C. Oldsmobile Club has had a chance to respond to my e-mail sent to him, today. We may have a good contingent of Regal and GNs attending form the Buick GNRA Club, if the weather is good.

Well, bad news! Here I was thinking this was an Open event for all GMs and it is a closed event for Oldsmobile and Pontiacs, only. This is not a charity fund raiser for orphans, but meaning "orphans" as in Oldsmobile and Pontiacs which are no longer being produced.

Here's an excerpt of John's response:

the Father's Day show is for GM orphan's ie Olds and Pontiacs only. I think you're confusing this show with the all Gm cruise/picnic on July 4th at Campbell River Park. Sorry for the confusion.

    John Rudland

Sorry about the confusion! July 4th will be the date of the All GM Picnic, which we are welcome to.

Agreed! This past Sunday, I did attend a vintage stereo Garage Sale with my GS, and met with a friend from Whidbey Island. I knew him from the forum I belong to, Tapeheads.Net and he had a very nice ride in the GS. He was so excited he treated me to lunch. It was worth opening the 4 barrels for that kind of a treat!

    Hi Nando,
Good to hear from you. I thought maybe the house reno was taking you away from the car show circuit.

I'll be going out to the "Father's Day in the Park" in Mission. There is always a lot of cars there and it is open to everyone.

If your looking for another event, come and join us.

    Hi Joe,

Hope things are going well with you and your family. Actually, I just gutted my son's bedroom (while he's vacationing in Quebec) and will be starting on the rebuild next week. The kitchen and dining room have been rebuilt... yes, rebuilt, not renovated. Geri and I moved our stuff back upstairs just over a week ago. Just some minor things to finish, before it is absolutely completed. We were living like my Italian parents for awhile, cooking and living downstairs. Only thing is, at their age it's much more convienent not to go up and down those damn stairs and I can now see why.

Technically, Sunday is my scheduled work day and I heard the weather might be iffy, so I opted to work it, afterall. But, I will be at the All GM Picnic/Show at Campbell Valley Regional Park on Sunday, July 4th.

As I won't be going to Mission, would you mind snapping off some pictures of the show for the rest of us to see. How's that car of yours behaving?

    Nando.

Rob had a couple pictures taken alongside my GS. His wife owns a 2001 Corvette, but he wasn't prepared for the 455's "block-to-block torque."

    Nando,
Tell me more about the Campell Valley Show on July 4th. I'd be interested.

The Father's Day show was excellent and no sign of rain. Not many Buicks there and no GN's. I'll dig up some pictures.
