The "X" code triple deuce intake..........experimental Buick?

    What size nailhead......322?

Any history you can provide regarding this intake?

    Thanks,

    Marty

Yes, 'X' code from GM mean experimental. There are some members here I believe that either have or had X-number 2x4 intakes for the 364 and 401-425.
This intake is for 322(&264). I have little history on it. However, I did work for a Buick dealer and the owner said he had a 'factory' 3x2 intake on his 54 Super with the export cam/lifter/rocker kit and factory hi-comp pistons. He was in the Detroit area at the time going to GM school. Unfortunately 50 years have blurred his memory for part numbers etc... but he swears his stuff was all factory. Up until I found this intake, I wasn't so sure-no I believe it...

I see that I overlooked the X-number 2x4 that is already posted in this thread. Cool stuff for sure. Rumor is more X number stuff may be surfacing soon.....

Not interested in selling the intake, but can check to see if I have a 'spare' set of export rockers.
Dont want to sell off the last set I have as they match the 322 Export cam and shell style lifters I have for them!

Thank you so much for the dual quad linkage pic... I made a perfect set. Now, After rebuilding my posi, replacing the 3:42 gears with 3:90's and dumping the dyna-saur trans and installing one of my freshly rebuilt variable pitch T-400's with a stage 2 shift kit... I think ya'll should stay off the sidewalk... she may go sliddin' sideways down the road... vrrrooooommmm

    Joe..........

Any luck finding those "export" adjustable rocker arms?

I know there were two different sets. 1953 to 1956 is one part number
and 1957 to 1958 is the other. Do you know what the differences are?

    Rocker ratio?

    Thanks again,

    Marty

    Andy,

How :dollar: jealous are you? Enough :dollar: jealousy might persuade me to part with the 3.91 center section that came from my '63 Riviera. To me it's priceless, so don't ask me what it's worth. I'd like to know what it's worth to you.

    Not as it sits; it's a "peg-leg."

And how much would I be offered for my 3.91 posi and the 4.45 posi. As Ed said, "to us they are priceless".

Haha, I wish I had the cash, but alas I'm a poor high school student. If either of you are really serious about possibly selling, toss out a number and I'll see if it's even possible. It is my birthday tomorrow if anyone cares  .

As I said earlier. It's not for sale, but the right offer could change my mind. That, my friend, puts the ball in your court. I'll never put a price on it. You'll have to make an offer and see if I can be knocked out of my chair.

Mine is priceless, but Tom T's posi units have to be worth a whole lot more than that.

Plans call for it to back up a late model 4 speed o/d tranny. With a 2.74 first gear and the 3.91 rear end, it's got better torque mulitplication numbers than an M-22 close ratio 4 speed stick with a 4.11 rear end. Plus, in o/d it will have a final drive of 2.62. I plan on having my cake and eating it too.
