He is watching the value of his retirement stash dwindle, and figures if he sells two of those rears he could swing it for two months? Jim used to have a banner tag line under "Parts for sale" that stated, tongue in cheek, that there should be no $900 over flow jars, or something similar and I believe his intent was that no grossly overly inflated prices should be attached to parts for sale in his board. We were kicking this post around the office....and I think I figured it out after reading all 42 of C.Rob's posts that were available to pervue. We here have all decided its just business. Looks like he has a lot of irons in the fire and is just trying to buy things he needs and sell things he may not. You never know....somebody may think the price one asks for a part is reasonable while others do not... I'm asking $11K for my GS, and not one bite....maybe I'm overpriced, but I know what its worth, and what I have into it, so I tried to pick a number between them that was reasonable...which may be the case with C's parts...either way, it was funny while it lasted, and made for good conversation around the office...so, THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING GOOD CONVERSATION!! Since this thread turned towards the serious part of town... If I wanted an early B4B, I'd buy one on this board for $350 or less. There are two on the board. Those prices seem to be in the "normal" range. As for those ultra rare chevy rears.. There is a member on this board who I'm sure would be happy to build one for me for less than $2500 with all new parts. That's not a big deal, since I can buy those anywhere for those prices. If someone is just going to add an arbitrary "0" to try and land a sucker, that's just horsesh*t. I can't imagine anyone would get offended if they weren't taken seriously, when their prices CLEARLY show their intent. One price, in one ad, could surely be a mistake. Though when you get into a 5 figure price, the comma let's you know it ain't no mistake. Now... who likes Ostrich meat? p
