BIG UPDATE!!!!!!!! Price has gone up on the 3.42 gears THAT IS BAD...BUT there is some GOOD NEWS TOO.... BRAD has the 3.64 gears coming in less than a MONTH!!!!! Check the NEW post I have in this forum FOR SALE section

    >>>>>>>> GEARS ARE NOW 459.00 <<<<<<<<<<<

I know ouch... But there are not other gears in the world AND THEY ARE ALL AMERICAN MADE GEARS FROM DESIGN TO CASTINGS TO CUTTING TO RESALE....

1968-1970 Buick and GS only ring & Pinion sets NEW NEW NEW

THE GEARS ARE NOW IN STOCK!!!!

    FINALLY READY FOR ORDERS....

    3.42 ratio
    41 ring tooth count
    12 pinion tooth count

Brad Durest at Fab craft in Texas is going to finally make this happen. He is going to make 30 sets. WAS399.00 for a set. Same as Richmond was going to. These gears are going to be made in Wisconsin and will be an ALL AMERICAN product so you can feel your money is going to a good cause also...USA american workers. Gears are forged from 8620 top quality material.

This is also one of the big reason for going through him also.

So all you need to do to place an order is call Fabcraft 1 800 208 8242 and ask to place an order for the 3.42 Buick gears 1968-1970. He takes all major credit cards (Visa, Master card, etc.) You can either pay in full or 50% down if that makes you feel a bit more confortable.

Time frame. 6 weeks for tooling and 6 weeks for actually making them. So you have 3 monthes to pay the extra 50%.

Early orders will get the 399.00 (THIS OPTION IS LONG GONE!!!!) price after they are made the price will go up a bit (NOW THEY ARE 459.00....

Reminder: I would say if this does not go over well I would never count on any other gear ratios ever emerging. SO lets make good on our word as Brad has on his.

Quality: I will personally set up a set before they ship to be sure they are up to snuff. I will also give discounts on Auburn units to go with these gears also. 369.00 and they will be ready for your gears to bolt right up.

Questions: When and if you call Fab Craft 1 (800) 208 8242 Brad will be able to answer all the technical forging questions on the gears and set-up. I Jim Mitschke (J D Race and Restoration) will be more than happy to guide through most on the questions also and set-up of your gear sets. We will not leave customers just wondering. We are here for your support.

I am truely glad we could make all this work and hope we have future ventures with this much success. This will be perfect timing for a christmas gift and you will have all winter to gert the rear built and ready for next seasons racing or crusing.

Best wish and good luck on a set of gears.

    Jim Mitschke

I have to say, that is an extremely reasonable price for a small production run like this. It sounds like FabCraft is passionate about what they're doing rather than simply trying to make a buck. Kudos to them and those involved.

    Hi everyone,
About 30 minutes ago I called Fabcraft, (spoke to Susan, very nice person!) and placed an order for a set of gears. I was a bit surprised to learn that I was the first person to order. That's one of the reasons I want to post on this thread, so it goes back to the top. Maybe not many guys have seen it yet. Keep those orders coming if you can.:pp
    Thanks Bill.

Has Year One, The Parts Place or Randy's Ring and Pinion been contact to see if they would like to add it to the list of parts they sell?

I placed my order for one set a few minutes ago with Susan at Fabcraft. Painless. Only took a few minutes.

I placed my order today as well. Susan told me I was only the 5th person to pony up. I hope all the people that were "in" when this was being put together before step up to the plate.

OK guys...Way to go. I hope maybe we can see more gears to come if we keep moving toward the goal...REMEBER to once they hit the shelf the price will go up by about 30 bucks so if you want to save money get them before now and 1 month from now. JUst a far warning I thought you should know. It is how most places operate. This would be nothing new in the world of selling parts.

I appreciate the space in the parts column, Thank you. Jim Mitschke

Final note: I will also give anyone advise with there set-up of htere gears and posi unit if needed...Just a added free bee that might be needed. Take care and lets get that goal. :3gears:

THE GEARS ARE HAPPENING NO MATTER WHAT... BUT LETS SHOW BRAD WHAT WERE MADE OF TO KEEP CONSIDERING THE CAR GROUP AND GEAR OPTIONS FOR BUICKS...

I would like to give special recognition to my dad, Stan Kennedy in AZ, who tore down his two good original rearends and sent the parts to Brad to make this happen.

btw My dad is not yet a v8Buick member but has a '69 GS Convertible Automatic, '69 Convertible GS 400 4spd <- yup thats a rare one, '70 GS Stage 1, '70 GS 350.

BIG THANKS... You and your DAD are awsome. I lost all the info on your number and names.

This is basically how we know these gears will be top quality. They have been measured from origianl GM quality gears.

Thanks again for all your trust. STILL CAN NOT WAIT!!!!:3gears:

    Thanks Jim,
It was actually my older brother (as I'm told) who passed the info to my Dad.
Good luck with this new biz opportunity, maybe someday i'll get a smaller car ('lark or GS) and order these gears. If you need either my brother's or my dad's contact info just pm me.

    thanks

I am not sure if this will answer all the particulars, but this is an answer from Jim (screen name: monzaz) previously on the subject in a different thread. But no doubt, Jim at J D Resto is the "Answer Guy" on this topic of the new 3.42 repro gear sets:
