I have an 2006 GMC 2500 Duramax Diesel Truck and was wondering what the consensus was for best computer programer for these trucks.
My # 1 reason for considering this is for improved mileage.Currently I get 18.5 mpg and would like to get that higher so who has a programmer that has delivered higher fuel mileage.
Thanks for anyone who can provide feedback

I like my Juice/attitude box. I have control when I want more power or more mileage, right from my dash as Im rolling down the road.

The Edge Juice w/attitude has a lot of levels and tunability. I have a Hypertech. It'll let you change tire diameter and has three levels of tune. I've run the Edge, Hypertech, and Predator. None really improved mileage, but did improve the truck's towing manners.

    Thanks Guys
Eventhough I have only had this truck for a month now, it lives in the 1500-1800 RPM range all the time.
I do not see the point of buying a programmer that allows more Boost to the Turbo and makes 150 more horse at 3100 RPM.
So what,I don't drive the truck like that and never will at 3100 rpm.
If I want to go fast I have GS 's and GTO's for that.
So increased mileage from these programmers is pure Hype?
The Hypertech advertises itself as improving mileage however Phil you did not see any mileage improvement with Hypertech programmer?
    Thanks for your feedback

When I put my Juice on DRIVE I got the dually crew cab in the 17s MPG, with a 48 foot goosenecktrailer into the wind at 78mph I was getting 8.5 in the TOW mode. I also got 15 with an open trailer at 78 and a car on it with it on TOW ....DOnt know what it does without the Juice but the truck just hauls the mail when I want it too. Loaded or not....

I have the Predator programmer. It didn't improve mileage, but it sure improved power. You'd be suprised how good these trucks are with a programmer. I won't even drive mine without anymore.

The edge/juice is also nice, but requires you to install a egt probe in the exhaust manifold. Just a lil more work.

Rich, check chevytalk.org and find the '99-up truck forum, doing a search there should get you plenty of reading.I have a gas '02 and I use the Hypertech to change my shifting speeds,I like it for what it is.By freeing off my intake and exhaust somewhat,I was able to improve mileage a couple of years ago.Just some thoughts.

You bring up a good point. I wouldn't run any chip or programmer without a good EGT gauge.

Personally, I run a Diablosport Predator programmer in my '99 7.3 Powerstroke. It does help with the fuel mileage... if you can keep your foot out of it, and I can't. If I try I can get get 20 MPG. I average around 18 and that it driving it pretty hard and fast most of the time.

EGT's aren't normally a problem unless you are pulling a trailer. Then you really need to watch the gauge and adjust your right foot accordingly.
