Rich, I just caught your addition "1 of 66". I was going to tell you like mine B3 (4spd) & S7 (tilt) one of 76. :TU: :TU: :TU: I bet the short floor console with the consolette is a low number also. Mike, its a short put for me You are right I just want to make sure I find what I can. I'm really just figuring out how to (like you guys haven't been able to tell) so I don't want to miss anything. I got the GM restoration pack for my white Hawk and that is just cool info. I have a friend and his first car was a 71 Torino GT and he is going to like that Ford site. In 71 from what he tells me you couldn't order the drag pack option. His car has all the drag pack options with the 429 super cobra jet engine. 4spd, shaker hood, engine oil cooler etc.... How many people would of ordered those options one by one to complete the previous year drag pack? Well now lucky him he gets to find out! I want that for my stage bad (nuts coming in). Brian
I have been hooked on collecting this type of info for a while now ou: Sometimes I wonder why but I just find it interesting :Comp: :beers2:
Does the 68-69 trim tag, explain the options ? I have not looked at one in a long time. I know there is no Sloan for those years?? Sorry tog et slightly off topic... thanks, DL
Too bad our 69 Stage 1 4-speeds wont bring Hemi-cuda prices... Oh well, it were about the money I wouldnt have mine. Michael
The '68 trim tag is like the '69 and up tags, it gives very little if any option information. You'r right, Sloan only has info for part of 1970 and up, nothing before 1970..
Just a few, Model year, what car it is (division series, body style), assembly plant, unit number, tirm combination and body color. At least I think thats correct. I'll let you know. I hope I'm not the one in my family to sell it. That would always be a bonus though!
Hi guys I have a 69 gs stage 1 convertible. Automatic. Pearl white interior white top. Is it possible to know how many with these options are crystal blue irradescent ? Thanks in advance
...minus 1971...and below Sequence# 193nnn for '70...and you're not alone finding this stuff interesting.
I see this thread started several years ago. I wonder if there is any new information that has cropped up? I have a 1969 GS400 Stage 1 convertible red w/white interior and auto. I have verified that all the numbers match, but I can't find a build sheet anywhere on the car. The drivers door has been replaced as well as the gas tank. It is not under the rear seat. Did I miss any place to look?
I would like to get it in the Registry, and a copy of the window sticker. Unfortunately the lack of records won't let that happen.
If you have pics of the RS block with the VIN stamp and/ or BB trans with VIN stamp, that would be enough...
After a delay I am back at finding numbers information. I could have sworn I found the RS number on the block and took pictures a few years ago but can't find them. With a feeble memory I am starting over to get pictures of the numbers. I have the transmission, distributor, carb and intake but I can't find the block numbers at any of the many suggested locations. Any help with where to look, and hopefully pictures would be greatly appreciated.
I see this is a slow motion thread, but I must add that under the package tray and inside the seats, as well as on top of the gas tank are likely locations for build sheets depending on which factory produced your car. Also, on my car (1968 GS cal 350) the VIN on the block is on the left (drivers) side front of the block, below the power steering bracket and above the timing case.
Here are pics of my 69 non stage, but the numbers are in the same place. VIN number. Location where RS code should be.
I tried to post pictures, but they are too large and I don't know how to reduce them. I got pictures of the two areas, and got the RS and some faint numbers. The front has some really faint hints that there are numbers there, but not readable. Any ideas about how to draw them out?
I used a clean rag and some spray cleaner. That worked well enough to make it quite readable? Taking a photo and zooming up can help too.
The pictures were really helpful, thanks. I was looking in those two spots, but the numbers are faint so I didn't see them. I did spray it, and am looking at clean metal. Maybe the block has been milled.
